Nice box, around here we have lots of dump bodies like that but the bottoms of the beds are U shaped, not sure why I would want a flat bottom on one.

More picts coming that show round bottom and tapered bottom units. I asked the Air Flo guys the same question and they said that you have to tip the bed eventually any way and that the stuff in the sides makes it way to the back.

Not so sure I want to buy into that but hey they do make it in stainless so I'll give em that one.

Never thought about when you tip it back, so there will be alot less salt left then I thought. I agree the stainless does look beautifull.

So that's a dump body. Can it be used for anything other then spreading salt?

Imo Airflow has always made some top shelf products, my SS V box still looks good after all these years , would take a few engines but other than that the unit doesnt owe me a dime.

You can use them for filling wheel barows with topsoil or mulch. The ones around here have a plate that covers the chain for the summer if you don't need it, not sure about the Airflow.

We just talked about it above, you can raise the box and what won't spread after that can be dumped out when your done, no shovelling unless you want too.

I supose the only way to get most use out of it would be to have sides put in at an angle to the chain i know you said you could dump out but that would be after every time it just seams like it would be more of a pain you have stuff in there but you can't use it you still have to drive around with the extra weight not that it's a bad thing in the snow for pushing/

I agree, that's why the ones made around here are U shaped so the boxes clean out.

I think you have the right idea Rick. Otherwise there will be quite a bit of material left against the tailgate.

The other nice spreader they had is a 4 yd V-box for 450\4500-550\5500 trucks. It even had stainless roller chain. All electric as well.
