Hi everyone I'm new to the forum I have 9ft Fisher HD Series wont lift or jog left or right about 5 yrs old I can hear the relays working I think the motor is spinning hear a slight squealing noise inspected screen cleaned it last season I changed oil from ATF to Hi-performance low temp hydrallic fluid. give me idea's what my problem could be please or tips on what else I can check. thanks.

Check for air pockets in the system, it could need bleeding then top off the fluid. Also maybe the valves could be stuck/sticking? Check to make sure the valve coils are getting power when you make an input to the controller. BE CAREFUL when doing this, plow may suddenly work and swing/drop on you. So just stay clear from the plow when doing this.

My guess would be in line with what Stephen said - air in the system. Keep working the controller; up/down and left/right. Make sure your system is full first. I had the same thing happen on a 9' HD two years ago. I'd changed a line and filled the resorvoir. Darned thing would barely move. Thought I was going to have to buy another motor. Once I started getting the air pockets worked out, it was only about half full. Kept running better and better. Now works like a charm.

After flushing hydrallic fluid bled the air out of line oil capacity is suppsed to be 1 3/4's quarts it took about 2 quarts to top off. Was able to get plow up off the ground using floor jack still doesnt respond took a ride to local fisher dealer 1 of the tech's had a quick look said the coils are doing what there supposed to do, told me its a stuck valve from the systoms he observed he only spent 5 minutes inspecting plow 1 of those favors from the dealer thing. If he's right cleaning the valves would of solved my problem, maybe I didnt clean the valves good enough so I'm asking how to clean valves if anyone knows and I'm using page 6 for a reference out of the fisher parts list manual parts 9,10, and 11 file name is (LD RD HD MC Series #9825-1#9840-2#9835 Parts Lists 21993_041503)

See if this helps. From the Fisher site: http://www.fisherplows.com/pdf/27190_091404.pdf

You need to bench test the valve your cleaning to make sure it's opening at all.Put the coil on the valve and secure it with the nut(not to tight)and apply 12 volts to the coil and see if the valve is even trying to open.(there's no wrong way to hook the coil up as long as there's posotive and ground.

Yes thats what I'm trying to findout how to do and also how proper method to clean valves. Putting 12v to cartridge but then how do I trip the cartridge?

Putting 12v to cartridge but then how do I trip the cartridge? Looking at this page http://www.fisherplows.com/pdf/27190_091404.pdf

I'm guessing the coil energizes the cartridge and the valve is inside the cartridge do you know if this is correct. I see nothing inside the manifold to manually trip to check for sticking and thats what the tech at the fisher dealer told me to do.

It's magnetic, you should see the valve move quickly.

Ok got all the cartridge's bench tested they all appear to be working now I'm really confused as what could be wrong.

Insta-Act minute mount 1 the motor is not spinning

Is your selonoid Clicking under the hood?Check your ground connections on the truck and plow,i just serviced a plow that would activate the coils and valves on the pump but wouldn't always run the motor-bad ground.

the motor is not spinning

As in the hydraulic pump drive motor?

no hydrallic motor is not pumping fliud thru the manifold

Is the electric motor running or not ? No motor,no hydraulic pressure.

yes electric motor is working making 1 of the power cables heat up. I loosen 1 of the hydrallic hoses and there is some pressure dont know if that is enough pressure to shift the blade.

If the cables are heating up,you may have a bad motor.Check the ground, and the connection through the plugs. If the ground is bad,or the plugs aren't making good contact,it will starve the motor for voltage. You can test with a pair of booster cable to bypass the truck wiring.

First of all I'd like to personally THANK everyone who replied to my problem. You people are GREAT gave me lots of advise on what to check and what to do. Hopefully I can help someone here or inperson the sameway. Ok now onto what was wrong with my hydraulic's as I said the dealer took the time and had a tech look at the coils he rang them out told me coils were doing what there supposed to do said it was a stuck cartridge valve either A ot B was stuck told me to clean them and see if it corrected the problem. I soaked them in hydraulic fluid to clean them and wasnt sure if that was the right way to clean, so I asked in this forum how to clean cartridge valve's, now I can answer that question no one here seemed to know or didnt give me an answer a few people I spoke with told me if cartridge valve was stuck had to replace them thats is totally FALSE the cartridge valve's come apart and can be cleaned using parts cleaner and then apply some lubricant. Both A and B cartridge valve's were stuck, cleaning them properly solved my problem. A freind of mines nephew who is into building lowrider's (hydraulic lift cars) is who told me about being able to take apart the cartridge valve's to clean them. Hope I helped someone who might have the same problem in the future. Thanks again everyoneeeee Happy Plowing Lets have a Blizzardly winter lol:haha
