I didn't know Chuck had asked us to work on changing his logo. What did I miss???

WoofsPlow

What's the logo look like now?

JCurtis
11-12-2003, 12:51 PM
BRL,

I think they are suggesting something that lends itself more easily to advertising items such as T-Shirts and Sweatshirts, hats, decals etc.

We are proud of this site and would somehow like to increase the ways of getting this place as well know as .... well you know !

:greenange

I think the Chevy logo is fine. If you are talking about T-shirts and stuff to wear for advertising this site than I would agree that a different logo maybe needed...but I will leave that decision to Chuck

BRL
11-12-2003, 01:12 PM
Oh OK. I thought Chuck had made a post somewhere asking for us to do some design chages for him ;)

Woofsplow,
The banner at the top left has been Chuck's logo for his site for years. But I see where you guys are coming from, that it might be hard to put that on shirts when the time comes. We'll see if changes come.

BWhite
11-12-2003, 01:37 PM
T shirts or something ironon would be nice . I would wear it to the upcoming N.E Snow and Ice show . That should help with the already great membership !!!

sonjaab
11-12-2003, 01:40 PM
How about T-shirts ?????? lol

I think GM would be pissed and want some
serious $$$$$$ for using the Chevy bowtie
on anything..............geo

BWhite
11-12-2003, 02:07 PM
Yes , Shouldnt do that without there permission . They have lots of lawyer types

I think the 4th one looks about the best sofar

Big Nate's Plowing
11-12-2003, 08:54 PM
4th was "almost" good enough, I gave this one my stamp of approval:shades

JCurtis
11-13-2003, 04:18 AM
These are some very nice designs, I think we are heading in the right direction, maybe a few more guys can develop a couple of ideas.

Then if and when Chuck decides that he would like to authorize one design we can look into Shirts, be they T-shirts or Sweats.

:shades :D

WoofsPlow
11-13-2003, 04:18 AM
Maybe we can come up with 3 or 4 choices and then have a poll to vote on which one looks best to us. What does Chuck think?

campi
11-13-2003, 04:32 AM
I agree, let show a few more logos, and if ok by chuck, maybe we could take a poll?? unless chuck comes up with one, just a thought!!! Campi !!!!

They all look pretty good but for some reason I favor this one! I can't imagine why?

11-13-2003, 04:52 AM
Well I was just fooling around and came up with one.

JCurtis
11-13-2003, 04:55 AM

Actually i was thinking more along the lines of Boss :D But i can live with it aslong as it isnt yellow... Wouldnt want people to think we were useing meyers blades... lol

Sorry pals but, my blood runs yellow!

JohnnyU
11-13-2003, 06:24 AM
Guys Becareful about adding the copyrighted logos of other companies, even plow manufacturers, I think they would want something in return if we wanted to use their logo. Plus we don't want to discriminate against any company, that even makesit tough to find a suitable color for the blade without showing favor to one company over another...

WoofsPlow
11-13-2003, 06:39 AM
How about orange.

Roger Dodger
11-13-2003, 08:27 AM
SnowyBowtie,
It's just out of fun, I don't think others are serious. As for my ink-blot, I look at it like this:
At the "other" forum site, The Fisher Rep never mentioned ill of it since it wasn't plastered on merchandise or attached to a private business label. It's free advertising for them afterall!

JohnnyU
11-13-2003, 08:35 AM
I know its all in jest, just as long as we don't get set on a design that includes some copyrighted image. Besides, Chuck has the final say, he hasn't even said anything about it at all yet.:beatsme

I just wanted to make sure nobody gets in trouble, as someone said, "they have lots of those lawyer types"

BWhite
11-13-2003, 08:52 AM
They may give permission .....

BRL
11-13-2003, 08:54 AM
Gonna be funny if we find out that he might have his own logo all ready set up the way he wants. All this good work for nothing :headwall :D

I wonder how many people sit around in internet MB's and design unsolicited new logos for your companies also LOL. That might be what you find at graphic arts MBs "hey members, look at this logo I just saw, don't you think it would look better like this?:" LOL
:rockon

I think orange would be the "safest" color.

Nice designs guys. I like them all, but I favor red for some odd reason. I too would like it to be a complete plow, possibly attached to some sort of vehicle, preferably a truck of some sort! :D Then it would look so much better than just a moldboard sitting there. Just my oppinion. Mike

I like the red design myself.:D

snowplowjay

SLP as I know it is a performance company that has parts for Camaros, Firebirds, Montes, and even Rangers and S10's.

Look for their website to check em out.

Kawdude, you were close, it stands for Street Legal Performance. They are the guys that take normal Z28's and turn them into SS's and take normal Trans Am's and turn them into Firehawk's. Their web site as I know it is www.slpeng.com. Mike :)

Dodgetrucks.org (http://www.dodgetrucks.org) (shameless plug, sorry) that I go to has an online store at Cafepress (http://www.cafepress.com) where you can buy shirts and stuff promoting the website, maybe something to look into, they charge a base price for the items and then you set the markup, they make the shirts as they are purchased, so you don't have a minimum to buy either. If a store were set up I would buy something:D

Sno-Mover, thats weird, I didnt know that. I guess it makes sense though, since GM discontinued the Camaro and Firebird line for 2003. Sad to say, but 2002 was the last year for all the F-body cars. :( Mike :burnout

Well, what I did for now is register a new .com address that points to this domain. I might change that in the future, but for now, it will take people to the main Snowplowing-Contractors.com page. Hopefully they can find this Forum from there easily enough.

The new domain is:

www.LetsTalkSnow.com

That will fit on hats, shirts, etc. Those will be coming soon. I need to come up with a logo too.

I will keep you all posted. :burnout

Sounds good to me also Chuck. I will definitely buy a hat and shirt if you have them made up. I didnt buy any when they had them made on PS for some reason, I just had a weird feeling that something wasnt right. Now Im glad I didnt buy any, but for this site, hell yea Ill buy one! I hope you can come up with a nice logo. I think it should definitely include a truck and plow or some sort of machine with a blade or pusherbox, pushing snow. Just my oppinion. Whatever you decide to do, we will like it, even if we have to lie! :D Mike ;)

I love the idea of writing it on a plow.

That lets people know it's a "snow & ice management" site" & not some weather or winter sports related site.

It's late i know, so I'm not thinking clearly, but how about a bikini clad lady in six feet of snow with a snow shovel. No wait, if she's in six feet of snow all we'll see is white. Let me sleep on it. :)

I like this one, but could you change the plow to one of those beefy ones you see on the Oshkosh rigs? Big at one side and angles down to the other side...

Mark Oomkes

Along the lines of Henry's suggestion, how about a pic of 1eye2 driving the Mystery Machine with Ginger looking out the windshield next to him? :grinz :rolling :rolling

Ok, picture this: An arial view of a big parking lot with the words "let's talk snow" and it being underlined. At the end of the underline is the truck/plow that did it. Or vice versa, make the words and the underline out of the snow the truck plowed? Heck, I don't know, it's been a looong day........:huh
