318???

I just recently bought a Jeep CJ7 and the owner believed that the motor was a 318? Can anyone tell me where the block numbers are so I can get the year of build and even if it is a 318?? Thanks :feedback

IIRC the only V8 that came in the CJ's was a 360.

The only v-8 that came standard in the CJ-7 was a 304 sorry worked for a Jeep dealer for 14yrs :grinz



PS The Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer came with a 360 also the J-10 trucks came with a 360 or a 258 6cylinder

I believe the motor has been changed that is why I was inquiring about the block numbers to see what excatly is in it.

Is the Dist in the front or rear of engine???? a 318-360 was in the rear a 304 was in the front.
