Doesn't sound too out of line. Just had some 265/75R16 LT Load range E's installed for just under $590.00. No studs, mounted and balanced.
I justed checked on them today. 130.00 each M&B

17" tires are a heck of alot more expensive then 16"ers. 210 a tire is a fair price.

Hey Basic, I know the Cooper distributor in Brooklyn but I can't get you a price until Monday. Let me know if you want to pursue it. The only down side is that he doesn't mount & balance.

Thanks guys.
SIPLOWGUY,ssir, thankyou for the kind offer but I think I'll buy them from the guy I've been using for years.I just wasn't sure because he wasn't a Cooper dealer his price would have been higher,it wasn't.Thanks as always.

Don't be too concerned about the price.Once you see how well they hook up that Cummins, you be grinning from ear to ear. They are priceless at that point. :D

You got that right, My Coopers are 17's and they were alot more than 16's. I wouldn't trade them for the world. I ran them all winter and summer (don't shoot me for that) and I still have enough tread for this winter.

Just talked to my tire guy. Tried to order the M+S and he said they aren't studable? :headwall
He insists that M+S is a generic designation for a mud and snow tire, and does not indicate which tread I actually want. Is this why we get such a range of prices here?
I've been buying tires from these guys for years, but this is the first time I've ordered these. If anyone has a stock # or some other designation, I'd appreciate it.

They are studdable. Here is the link http://coopertire.com/us/en/ProductDetails.asp?ProdType=LtTruck&id=206&title=Light+Truck+Tires
BTW, even unstudded, they are great.

I'd start worrying about my tire guy. Maybe he should check before he speaks. The holes are already there for studs.
I think he is sort of correct on the M&S designation, though. The Conti-craps that I got on my '05 F350 are M&S rated. IMO, they are at best a steer tire for a medium\heavy duty truck. I am getting some 17's for mine, bought a set of used wheels off Ebay for it. I can't wait to see how my truck responds with shorter tires, giving it a slightly lower gear ratio.

Yes,M&S is a generic term referring to any tire rated for mud and snow use.Cooper does sell a Discoverer tire called the M&S.It is not only M&S rated, but also RMA rated for severe ice and snow, which really means it works.A tire must pass stringent traction tests to recieve this designation, unlike any M&S rated tire, which is based on tread design (looks),and not performance.
The Cooper M&S IS studdable.
Me thinks ya need to find a new tire guy who knows his stuff !

i just droped my rims to get them done too easier to just have them call me when their done rather than sititng there waiting for them. Wasent going to get studs this year i origonally planned to just run my courser M & S's this winter but changed my mind on that one after playing slip and slide yesterday morning. i called around a bit for them but that was mainly because i was having a hard time finding load range E in that size.

I just got my tires mounted yesterday, they were $50 less then first quoted. It took a few weeks for them to come in as they didn't do a production run until then.Their a little taller than the stock tires and fairly aggressive tread, they do look better then the stock tires. We were supposed to get 1"-3"overnight and just got a dusting,I'm looking foward to trying them.Once more I'm glad I listened to you guys, thanks again and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I got the run around from my local Cooper dealer called him once and stopped to see him. They always try to see what they stock. Another dealer had m+s but they were a ht version. I just ordered from tiresaving.com 235-85-16e
for $128ea including shipping. Now I need 2 16x7 dodge rims.

never heard of a 235 80 16 but just me i would go with the 235 85 16 same as a 265 75 16 is no mistaking and you get them at a about 75 doullers at dicount tire fore around 79 balanced so try that on maybe not in your area but that's what I was quoted being a dually and all thats the biggest I can go without spacer's 'but been wrong befor good luck.

Phil, hey, thanks for that link to tiresavings.com. I've been calling around trying to find these tires in NJ for the last few days. Nobody even has a clue that they exist but yet I had to put up with the "you idiot customer, me intelligent wrench" speeches. A couple guys were nice enough to do me a favor and order them for some crazy price to have them in by January. I can't stand the NJ attitude.
Anyway, I found them on the website in no time. Ordered them Mon night and they were waiting for me after work today. Nice. Maybe I can get one of those chain place to mount them up tonight :) 235/85R16 Load range E. I hope they are as good as everyone says. I guess they can't possibly be worse than these stock pizza cutters.

I had ordered cooper discoverer m+s from tire savings.com at 7pm on a Wednsday night and had a ups tracking # on Thursday and UPS showed up on Fri afternoon. I had spent 2 weeks calling local places and getting the same run around. My local garage charged $15ea for mount and balancing. The tires were on my truck Sat noon!
They are great! I plowed yesterday mostly in 2 wheel drive. The information on this site is great! I have pro-wings, Poly cutting edge, and now Coopers! all from this site! Thank you!

Guys I wanted to dig this one up from the grave. Called one place and they wanted $200 PER TIRE mounted and balanced for 235 85 16. Another place wanted $133 for the same tire. What gives. $133 is reasonable... $200 is just nuts. :headwall
What are you guys paying?

My 17's were $173 a tire almost a year ago.
Maybe the $200 a tire fills them with Nitrogen.

If the brakes get any bigger maybe they can make a smart move and just start using 19.5's standard on 1 ton trucks

Went ahead and placed an order locally $133.90 mounted balanced with new valve stems. Should be $716.37 for 5 out the door with tax. Plus $350 for 5 new OEM steelies delivered so $1066 for 5 new wheels and tires. Reasonable... This is 235/85/16E.
