i have a 73 K-20 that has 31's on it already and was wondering if anyone new if a 3" lift would be enough to clear 37's

Depending on rim size, I think you'll only be able to get 35's on it. If I remember the common practice for the 73-87's, you will need a 6" or greater lift to run 37's **(I think)**
