I ordered a new piece of Snow Removal Equipment today, although it will be used year round. We are retiring our 1988 John Deere 210C 4x4 Backhoe and replacing it with a John Deere 310G 4x4 w/ Extenda Hoe and a JRB quick coupler that will allow us exchange equipment between the Loader and this new backhoe. The machine is coming from the JD factory in Iowa so I will post picks when it arrives. Should be taking delivery sometime in October.

I'm assuming you bought from Schmidt equipment. I'm surprised you had to order from factory and they must have had 30 of them lined up at their main office in Oxford. I'll have to take a look see next time I'm in Oxford. Maybe they did, get rid of them all in the last month.

LarryRB,
You are correct. It is coming from Schmidt. The reason it is coming from the factory and not off the lot is because in order to make the quick coupler on the new backhoe except the snow equipment from the loader, they have to install a different coupler as the normal quick coupler for this size backhoe is different than the one on the loaders. It is easier all around if they have this all done right at the factory were the machine is built.

Jeff I forgot to ask but since the collage is getting just the G and not the SG will you be getting the 80HP turbo option or will it be the 70HP model?

Just the 70hp model. I have the Loader and I rent two 410G's from a local contractor, and we need to run the college's backhoe over lawns now and again so we need to stay on the smaller end of things. The 110 is just too small and they don't make a 210 anymore and the way Deere works their backhoe numbers now is wierd. Apparently from what I have been told, the 310G is like a 310 of a few years ago, the 310SG is the same as a 410 of a few years ago and the 410 is like the old 510 and the 710 is just huge.

Well you probably won't this year. Maybe 2006!! They said that this storm tonight is going to hit Plymouth county, the cape and the islands. I am only going to see maybe an inch or two so that means about all the action this machine will see is loading up the v-box with Magic. I think the storm saw the new machine and got scared.:rolling

UPDATE
Didn't even get to put a bucket full of Magic in the v-box, just got a dusting out of this storm and the residual from the other day took care of it. :geez What I did do the other day was put the 4 yard bucket from the loader on and boy did that look funny. I will have to get a picture of that. It's just way too big for this machine.
