:blizzard It's official. My new Blizzard 8611 came in and is ready to be installed. I hope that I'll be happy with this plow. I've been a Boss man since the get go.I'm a little worried about those expandable wings. Just don't know how strong they are.

You'll love it. As for the wings last year i nailed a couple stumps (more than once) and not a problm. Also Blizzard Boss same parent company or at least used to be.

Triton great choice, but a couple of things, first as Jerre pointed out dielectric grease is essential to keep everything working. Two did you get the 5/8 cutting edge? If you didn't you'll probably want to get one or the polly to replace the 1/2 that came with it (although I'm told they are now standard on 8611's). Also watch the pin that the lift cylinder pushes on. It can bend. A lot!!

As others have mentioned in other threads do the basic maintainance and it should work out and don't worry about the wings they are not a probelm area on the plow. Good luck.

Also Blizzard Boss same parent company or at least used to be.
Blizzard and Boss plows were never affiliated.

The guys who run Blizzard plows father is the former prez of Boss plows and the kids all used to work there.

Did you get the Lopro 8611??

I ran two 810's last season one on a 03 F-450 and one on a 05 F-350. Both always pushed snow with a load of salt in the dump behind them. The wings held up great. I would have to agree upgrade to the heavy cutting edge.

Also let me know how RA ADAMS does on your install. What kins of price did they give you installed?? Also be sure they are going to stock parts, might want a few angle cyclinder pins unless you make the hard mod per Jere's post. I will be getting that done this season if I can get the right stats from Jere.

Lastly, I was so please with the times from the Blizzards I am adding a third this season without any second thoughts.

Ron, I bought the 8611 for my F450 and I also have an 8611 Low Profile coming for my 05 F350 Super cab. I think it was a good move. :blizzard

Wow $5000 installed, thats one heck of a deal ! I thought they were 5000 just for the plow no tax or install.

Well my 810's ran me about $5500.00 each last season.

I will be calling RA ADAMS in the morning to get a $5000.00 8611 installed on the 06 F-350 I picked up today.

810 Blizzard installed at Moose's 4x4 in Hartford Wisconsin are $4895.00 installed plus tax..
He doesn't have any 8611 or 8611 low pro's in at this time. Anyone that's in the area and looking can call Dan at Moose's 1-262-673-4557

Some how that math adds up to $5445 not $5000. Maybe I'll have to start shipping trucks out to Adams for install. That price seem's low to me too.

Was at the Blizzard dealership today where I originally bought mine and he qouted a person on the phone $5,800 installed for an 8611. Two years ago I paid $5,600 installed.

Will post some pics of the "updated" version of the plow I picked up today (after almost two months) from the same dealer. BTW if anyone is interested Pro Image in Manchester NH has a pile of 810's waiting for a good home. No I don't know what the price is.

Jerre

Well $ 5445 was what I paid. But, I think you might want to reconsider shipping your installs to Adams. " The price of gas and all " :blizzard

Just got the word from my installer in the City. Some how, some way, he traded for a 8611 LoPro and it will be in the shop on or about 9/20/05. Well worth the trip to Chicago with dealer support like that. Last season he had part direct shipped to my house within days every time I called for something.

When I had the two 810's installed last season there was a mix up with the 05 install as it was a new model year. He sent a tech to my house to make the fix. Now that is what I call service.

Not sure on the price just yet but I am sure whatever it is it will be worth every penny knowing I have a guy to stand behind it with several years of experience with Blizzard.

Adams will have great pricing due to there size but lets hope they have a tech that can learn real fast seein how this is the 1st season they are carring the Blizzard line.

Triton how about some pics of the 8611 mounted....

Great news for me......

That traded 8611LoPro never happened. So here I am wiating to hear if a LoPro is going to make it to my installer or will I end up wuth just another 810. Truck side already installed on the 06-F-350 just waiting for the plow.

Get the call today. Tim spoke to the delivery driver and the 8611 LoPro will be at the shop in tomorrow afternoon. Should have it ready for me to pick up by Thursday. I am onw happy camper.

To add to the great day I am having just got the call that a small local village is going to awarded us the streets contract for about 4 miles of village street plow and salt. Looks like the F-450 is going to get a work out with the the F-350's backing it up. Signing the commitment letter for 200tons of salt and lets hope I will also be using the F-450 to carry some of the $$$$$ to the bank. payup :blizzard

Triton,

You might want to call Adams as I think that truck stops at Rick's place 1st or maybe the other way around.
