Hey i propose we start a click clack and clink forum i Chris and JohnD to help answer some of your automotive questions there should be rules though.
1 When asking a question include make and model
2 No friend of a friend help if your a member i would be glad to help but third party help and info would be not fair.
3 We would not be held responsible for your wrong install or repairs only advice.
I spend at least 1 hour a night helping my IATN buddys so i will try and help answer has many has poss and i know Chris does has well .
One thing i notice is alot of new members asking questions getting proffessional answers and then disapearing iam all for doing anything to help this site grow but also dont think its fair to you i or chris for our tech backgrounds then leave stick around and contribte to the site.

The Tappit Brothers! I listen to them when we go to the Cape! Started listening when my wife, then girlfriend lived in Boston.

When is the last time the tappet brothers had there head under the hood of anything lol . There funny to listen to however there advice is not ness in the best intrest of the owner or correct.
It takes tons of time working everyday to gain the knowledge of todays automotive techs offering useable advice and making suggestions are to diff things.
I also should add Mike Coombs Plow Dak is also a inhouse Doc has well and maybe there is others , offering free advice is something that if you had to take a vech into my shop or Chris's shop would probley cost you 70 bucks to pop the hood , Chris has offered advice for a long time. I know i often fail to answer even a small number compared to his but have been trying harder lately to help give him a break.
Just seems latly a topic under this heading could help consolodate the help questions and poss get help out sooner makes no diff to me.
Perhaps not to impose a trademark problem we should just be called
The ""Canadian and the Country boy, Diesel huffer, Mainer boys"

That is so true Fred.I see so many TV\Radio shows,or columns in the magazines\papers regarding automotive tech help, yet none of these guys have been under the hood of a car\truck in the last 10 years. How the heck can you help someone if you don't know what you are doing ? You need hands on (turn on Darryl Waltrip accent here) "xperience".We see things everyday that these guys will never see,or you will never find in a shop manual or diagnostic flow chart.
You've been a big help here too Fred,as well as all the members.Everyone seems to chime in and help.I know you are just as busy as I am.
I apologize if I haven't answered as many lately,as I've been busy, and some get missed.Ask again,to bring your question to the top.

Anybody here been in there shop? I have :nodd Ray does still work on cars but he's not a wrench turner anymore... too busy for that. Your right about the show being more funny then informative but as they mentioned on television before how many listeners would they have if they went over wiring schematics? You won't get on air unless your story has some funny angle like "my car fell into a lake and now the stereo doesn't work?"
I think that shows great but I wouldnt call them if I needed to rebuild the transfer case in one of our trucks
Gotta give props to my East Cambridge pisan :notworthy .

Well, I could easily make a new Forum. The thing is right now, you get the same questions, just in their specific Forums. Guys with Ford problems post in the Ford Forum, etc... Are you saying you want to cover all vehicles in one Forum, including cars?

Keep the truck forums as they are,as we have most of the major brands covered.Maybe just one more forum for car\automotive questions that do not pertain to trucks ?
