I took my truck into the dealer after it didn't want to start in the HD parking lot at the end of May/beginning of June... they had it from Wednesday to the following Thursday and when I got it back they replaced all 8 injectors and 4 rotted glow plugs... which was probably my problem starting my truck back in the winter time. Just thought I would share some of my excitement with you guys...

injectors are covered till 200k and the rest of the motor till 100k. Its SOP now to replace all the injecotrs even if just one is bad

Gee that only took GM how long to figure out? Now we just need to work on Ford to figure out how much sense that makes.

After the regular warranty runs out, it is a $100 deductable on engine work... So it was $100, for about $3500 worth of parts and 60 hours of labor...

Truck runs like a top and mileage has improved and it starts right up like it should.

Glad your all fixed now.Everytime I think Im over the fear of the Duramax engine, and ready to buy one,I hear another story about an 7-8000 dollar injector repair job,and the sunsequent 13000 dollar engine job that sometimes follows right behind if the injectors arent caught early enough. The labor is way to involved for just a set of injectors, and parts are still to pricey for my wallet.

I was really hoping that was a typo, but apparently it wasn't.

For that kinda money, you know what I'd be doing...................e-bay the used Dmax and swap in a hot Cummins. ;)

They are supposed to waive the 100$ dedutible on the injectors and do the whole thing for free up to 200k I believe acording to the TSB. Its on all 01-02's and a case by case basis after that(I didnt pay dedutable on my 03 with 37 or so IIRC)
