What a Spreader!!!

I was passing a farm down the road from me and saw this spreader at work fertilizing the field. It spreads a 100' swath, has all wheel drive, I thought it would be excellent for salting large parking lots provided they are empty!!

I picked up a pallet of fertilizer Saturday at my supplier and there was the same spreader! The operator saw mw taking pictures and came over and explained the machine to me. It has a Cummins engine larger than the B series, an auto tranny and rubber bisquet suspension.

At the rear there are twin spinners, plus a diverter (circled) for the material when working on slopes. This keeps the material from loading the spinners all to one side on side slopes.

In the cab there's a GPS system that tells the operator where he's been and where he needs to go to get proper coverage. Everything is automated by computer. It will travel 45 mph between jobs. Pretty cool, huh?

I like the pics. Definitely looks like a useful spreader for large fields...
