View Full Version : We average Joes are Losers

I just found out that I, and a few others on this site, are loosers. The babe went for the boy with the pretty face. Her fantasy was beautiful places and things, . . . . . she picks a waiter over a millionaire.
What kind of girls do they raise in KC?
I think the average joe is the winner. He lives in NYC and can go frolic in the snow.
A waiter or a millionaire hmmmmmmmm.:headwall

Well my defination of average joe is : Slightly over weight, consumes alcholoic beverages on a daily basis and last but certainly not the least , love to PLOW SNOW of course that would not be myself or any one of us members:geez :geez :notworthy :wink

I think the waiter was more at her level in regards to life's experiences. The successful average joe was a millionaire, business owner and had it together. The chick had won a beauty pageant and that was about it. The pretty boy and her both still lived at home. She looked to be high maintenance anyway. The pretty boy will never be able to compete with the fantasy that the average joe provided so that will be a monkey on his back. Last night was the first night I watched that show...the next series looks pretty pathetic.....

I think you're right tovoninc, the two of them probably won't last a week. She wasn't ready for the commitment (ring) yet. Best thing the rich, single guy can do is :burnout
:D
And hey, welcome to you too. Have fun and enjoy the company. Not to many smart guys here (speaking of and for myself only), but there sure are a lot of whits, and a few guys who know how to plow as well (bonus).

She will realize how bad she screwed up with that choice, by that time it will be too late for her and she'll be

While he'll be someone worth his time.

Well does the Average Joe really want her if she's shallow enough to pick looks over substance?
windmill
12-10-2003, 08:26 AM
You're right NewHollandBabe, the average joe who does his thinking above the belt wouldn't want her. I think the loser was MOST gracious in the end. His heart must have been broken, but I think I see why he's so successful, he didn't dwell on it, didn't consider himself a loser, and moved on. I'm not to sure I could have done that at that moment. I wanted to (actually I did) yell at the turkey to go into the plane and rearrange pretty boy's face.
The things we men will drop the gloves for . . . sports, beer and a pretty woman when she appears (never think about them when they aren't around :) ). We are SOoooo stupid. :headwall

Who has time to watch TV? Especially those ficticious reality shows!! I'm lucky if I get to sit and watch reruns of COPS or a good Clint Eastwood movie!
Now, I see the networks are morphing reality shows to include home improvements/makeovers all the way to that rediculous show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Just another reason I'm turned off by a lot of television entertainment. As long as tv-hungry Americans show interest and thirst for mindless entertainment, networks will continue to conjure up and offer the whacko ideas. About the only reality show that's worthy to me is OCC's American Chopper series. Monster Garage is a joke and that spin-off Monster House is not even worth commenting about!

Yes, but we live in a free country and last I knew everyone was entitled not only to their own opinions, but the right to express them as well. You do not have to agree with someones opinion, but I will support thier right to express that opinion 110%- as long as it is not defaming or attacking anyone on this site I see no problems whatsoever with Roger's post at all.
No need for a news flash- I am sure he is well aware of the fact that there are people out there with other opinions.

Hey windmill-
Since you like to cook- how about we have a BBQ at your house? We already know you have one hell of a view off your back porch, so I guess now all we need is a road trip to taste your cooking!!
LOL!!
Oh, and I'm not going anywhere near the Martha Stewart thing.....

True, and that's what helps make the world go around. If all opinions were equal, we'd all be outfitting our trucks with Fishers.
Obviously, I'm in a minority when it comes to seeking gratification from television entertainment. Doesn't bother me since it's a low priority with me anyway. I like being a departure from the norm. :scramble
However, some folks just can't function day to day without their tv fix (apparently my family included!). My previous posting was more of a personal rant in trying to understand how so many folks take interest in the latest fads of tv entertainment. Remember the public craze over survival series shows?
Bottom line here is: I guess I'd rather look back at my life knowing I spent a vast majority of it experimenting, creating things, being productive and persuing hobbies rather than being a sedentary person or couch potato. Not aiming my reply at any one individual here in this forum... just generalizing towards those duped within the populace.
Well said, Bill.

OK I'll come out of the closet, I even like the home reno shows, AND Martha Stewart(bad time to be associating yourself with her... hope she didn't give you any economic advice!!), and I like to cook. Waaaaahh

Thanks for the advice Roger Dodger:) and the previous good post. Although I don't spend a lot of time watching TV I enjoy some of the "latest fads". Not so much the "entertainment" as the, phsycological aspect. Why do people do what they do, what motivates them, how do they justify what they do,etc. Perhaps it's time to do that to myself.
As far as the rest is concerned, I don't drink anymore (drank a life times worth before I was 20). Only ever had one lover (if that was the implication :) ) and wouldn't know what to do if another came around (kind of like a dog catching the car it's been chasing, pretty sad situation once it sinks it's teeth into the tire).
And that Martha Stewart stuff? Someone else must have editted that in!:)
I like your life phylosophy, I'm sure this world would be a better place if more would apply even just a bit of that to themselves. We look at other old cultures and wonder how they could serve idols, while most of us are looking to buy a 52" one for the front room. :headwall

me too! Let's chalk up our frustrations to no snow and no money!
Make mine another vote for avoiding "reality shows". The wife likes them and the current "dating(?) shows". What really got me with the survival shows was that nobody seemed to consider that there was a full production with cameras etc there. How spontaneous or survival-oriented could it be? Ridiculous.
I watch Gunsmoke on the Westerns Channel and enjoy some of the old movies on TMC or similar. The "newest" shows I like are Married With Children and Becker.
You think the current crop of shows are worthwhile? I can't even mention the main themes of the series Sex In The City on this site.

Hey Mick, you're right about those survival shows and the accompanying production crew. Like anyone on that crew is going to standby and watch a participant die or risk fatal injuries without stepping in to do the humane thing. Believe it or not, many tv viewers envelop themselves with content and completely forget about the production crew or even a lone cameraman that is there to witness/capture the footage. Just like the show COPS. They try to make it look as if the footage you view is through the officer's eyes.
BTW, I have sad n ews for both of us. This morning the radio announcer stated that the networks apparently don't have any new programming line ups for next year so they will continue with the popular reality type shows... with The Average Joe likely leading the way!:headwall
Thank God for my porn tape collection! Er, uuh, actually I'll just keep busy in the garage with projects.

I did say I like to watch COPS. And btw, my background is video production so I understand about behind the scenes/anonymous presence.
Besides, don't you have a Martha Stewart show to go watch or something?;)

Just got back from plowing (wife came along, she doesn't trust me anymore, but that's OK I made her work). Missed Martha/the news/passions/as the stomach churns/saved by the bell AND judge Joe, I'm really upset. Wife was spending each dollar as it was being made, unbelievable.
