Hi all, I posted a while ago about my Whelen 90 watt p.s. not working. I sent it out to Whelen, who repaired it under warranty and sent it back. I just put it back in and it works great. However, now it only works when one set of strobes are turned on, once I flip the second set ( I have 2 front, 2 rear ) on, they stop working. It almost sounds like when I turn both sets on, it is overloading the p.s. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I was thinking maybe the wiring in the controller was off or something. Thanks in advance for anything!!

Sounds like you may have grounded them out or that you have a wiring issue on the switches.
Try them one at a time. See if they fire.
Disconnect the pattern selection (if you have it connected) and use only the trigger wires.
Check the misbehaving tubes to be certain the plugs are in the correct order and that they are dry.

Pbeering, thank you for info! I tried them one by one, and they all fire. What do you mean by grounded them out? I also tried disconnecting the pattern selection and they still stopped once the second set was activated. I'm going to e-mail strobesnmore ( that's where I got them from ) and ask them exactly how the switch should be wired, to see if that may be the problem. Thanks again for the advice!!

Sounds like there is a hiccup in your second set control wire.
Check to see that it has power.
Test light or voltmeter on either side of the switch and at the control wire running into the power supply.
Check the pin to be sure it is seated completely (blue and green wires on Whelen) and plugged firmly into the socket of the power supply.
If all that fails, call the vendor.
