Looks good so far,but seems a little slow.It may be my wireless connection though,as I'm pretty far from my access point.

We need a redirect for the www.snowplowing-contractors.com\forums ,as right now it doesn't go anywhere.Most people use that to get to the forums.They may not know about www.letstalksnow.com

I also couldn't back on from 7:15-7:50 am.Not sure if was down again or what.

Seems a little slow here too. At home this morning, it was very fast.

I will set up the old URL with a note leading to here. I will try and get my host to do it for me, since I cannot do it from here, only home. Plus, they have to unlock the Forum directory for me.

The site became enabled at about 2 am. Not sure why it took so long.

Chris, you're right about the re-direct. I have been trying since last night to get on and finally went directly to LTS, instead of the SPC. You get a msg that says you're forbidden. I thought I had been banned...Others are thinking the same...

Lets give it some time,and see just how well it works.I'm sure they can do some tweaking on their end to get things up to speed.

I've been browsing around,and it seems OK,just not as fast as I expected being on a new server.

I n anticipation of any problems, I kept updating the announcement about the server move. In my last edit, I told people to change their bookmarks to LTS.

I think as more images are added to the cache on your computer, things will speed up. It seems faster here already.

Like I said, I will call my host as soon as they open (West Coast time) ans ask them about unlocking the directory at SPC.

I started building a mailing list, to send out an announcement, but over 3,000 e mails will get most accounts locked down, LOL.

I have multiple business email accounts,so if I can help send some out through those,just let me know.Maybe a few at a time through each account will not set off any spam alerts. ;)

Wouldn't hurt if some of the members emailed\IM'd,or called everyone they know,and let them know to start using www.letstalksnow.com to get on the site.

I remember some talk from you Chuck about a server move......Never read about a URL change.

Got some weird stuff when trying to go to my bookmark last night....Something about security certificates....Scary stuff!

Even went to your site, and linked from there.....same thing.


This morning, after a cup of coffee, I tried typing in the "letstalksnow dot com" and wallah....it works.


I just wonder how many other "old-timers" are still scratching their heads?

Took me a little bit to figure out the redirect… the old way gives you a not allowed access to server message.

Call me Mr. Anti-Change, but I never saw anything wrong with SNOWPLOWING - CONTRACTORS dot COM.

LetsTalkSnow doesn't seem to have as much of a professional ring to it IMO.

With this big of a change Chuck, shouldn't we have also upgraded the vBulliten version as well at the same time?

You could use the site www.zoneedit.com for automaticly forwarding snowplow site to lts... I have one of my email accounts forwarded.. and it work great... but you can, I believe, do a url forward from there too

All seems to be running good from my end, Chuck, looks like the speed is increased, I have cable modem, but my computer is less to be desired.
I too was alittle concerned about the problem with the SPC URL not working, but I did alittle thinking and made it here. Thanks for a great site, Chuck, I am sure most will figure it out until the old URL is linked back up.

I see I wasn't the only one who was a little panicked last night. I too thought I had been banned, until Chuck e-mailed me back. I wonder how many e-mails Chuck got yesteday from frantic members?

On the other side, my wife was pleasantly suprised to see I wasn't behind the computer last night. Maybe a mini baby-boom in 9 months?!

GMC, yes, my wife said the same thing, "i wasn't online talking about snow plowing" was how she put it. she kinda thinks that this site is only for when a storm is brewing and people are talking about plowing it, so I had to fill her in and let her know exactly what's going here.

i didn't think I was banned this morning when I tried to get on, I went over to the LTS site and read that the server was being moved etc. but didn't realize that the URL was changing. so later on around lunchtime, I tried again and got the same forbidden message. then later on in the afternoon i tried and got some message on the old URL about it being moved.
not a big deal. glad it's back up and running. i kinda went through withdraw last night and this morning. lol.

thanks chuck for all the work you do to keep this site running properly. go out and have a few :drinkup :drinkup :drinkup on all of us! :D

Guess I was like everyone else last night was thinking whats going on here why cant I get in. Was in the chat room with Plow Dak and Pelican and we came to a conclusion that Chuck was moving to the new server.
