So far its been kinda a slow start here.Rather warm and rainy (we have had a few cold days)The news said we are averaging 4 degrees above normal so far....Hopefully its not a sign of how the winter will turn out.....But then again this is New England and its hardly ever predictable.

I smell the snow though. Its not that far off.
The leaves are almost all off the trees and the cold fronts are getting stronger.

From Dr Mel channel 8 CT news.......For the first 10 days of November, the temperature has averaged 3 degrees warmer than normal.....Last year these days averaged 3 degrees below normal. This November is a far cry from what we had last year, and it is much more in keeping with November 2001 when the first 10 days also averaged 3 degrees above normal. The subsequent winter almost forgot to happen! :(

It's been off and on cold, 15 degrees earlier this week this morning it was 40. We have been getting rain a couple of days per week, hopefully it holds this pattern all winter.:D

Hey NY guy's here is the latest statement from emergency email.org
SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ON TAP FOR THE REGION.
A STRONG COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO CROSS WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE
AREA THIS EVENING, & SWEEP ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF THE REGION
OVERNIGHT. SOME OF THE COLDEST AIR OF THE SEASON WILL SWEEP INTO THE
REGION IN THE WAKE OF THE FRONT ON A VERY STRONG NORTHWESTERLY FLOW.
THE COLD AIR BEING FORCED ALOFT BY THE TERRAIN OF THE REGION WILL
RESULT IN THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON. ALTHOUGH
THIS IS NOT A CLASSIC LAKE EFFECT SNOW SCENARIO, THE SNOW MAY BE
ENHANCED IN LOCATIONS CLOSE TO THE LAKE SHORES, ESPECIALLY LATER IN
THE DAY THURSDAY. CONSIDERABLE BLOWING & DRIFTING SNOW, ALONG WITH
VERY POOR VISIBILITIES AT TIMES ARE ALSO EXPECTED.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NORMALLY ISSUED FOR A VARIETY OF WINTER
WEATHER CONDITIONS SUCH AS LIGHT SNOW, BLOWING SNOW, SLEET, FREEZING
RAIN & WIND CHILLS. WHILE THE WEATHER WILL BE SIGNIFICANT, THE
WORD ADVISORY IMPLIES THAT SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IS NOT ANTICIPATED.
STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO & OTHER RADIO & TV STATIONS FOR
FURTHER DETAILS OR UPDATES.

I might be a little crazy( I run into burning buildings for fun!!Volunteer firefighter LOL!!) But I don't really want to go parasailing with a 14' sheet of metal form a two story roof!!!
Maybe if it was a story and a half, or a single story I might!!!
LOL!!!
BTW- I read your post BWhite and almost spit my coffee out I was laughing so hard!!!! Thanks- I needed that after the day I had!!

New note from channel 8 news-Dr Mel............All the real cold air is locked up in the West, and everytime it tries to move eastward, it runs into our warm jet stream coming from the southwest. The cold air is deflected into Canada, or it just moderates as it tries to push eastward. In any event, we should make it through Thanksgiving with temperatures relatively mild. The computers are saying that changes will take place in a couple of weeks, but we'll wait and see...those two-week projections often come up short...........Lets pray the computers are right and we get some SNOW!!!!!!

I seem to remember a thread like this last year. A bunch of guys hoping for snow and they got it. Right on Christmas Day and it lasted for something like 3 days. :headwall

Gordyo, I hope you are right. I just don't want to wait till Christmas for the plow season to start. Last year we had a white Thanksgiving. this year doesn't look so good right now. We need some cold air from up north to come down and stay down here for a while.:cash

Joe- I agree with you, I was hoping for a white TURKEY Day also, it would be great to have one like last year, but if it waits until next week or so, that will be ok. I just hope it doesn't take too long to get here!
