I just bought a used Curtis 175. It mounts on the receiver. I wired it and put sand in it and I opened up the shoot all the way and it spins but sand does not come out. The little spinner thingy seems like it is just cutting through the sand. I do not know if there is some part of the spinner rotted off or not cause I do not know how it is supposed to look. I can weld and fabricate so should I weld a little larger piece of steel than what is there. I do not want to strip the gear reduction in the motor either. Any help or pics of what should be there would be appreciated.
Thanks.

It is a single stage and sand is difficult to run in them because of the bridging problem. You should consider running salt only in it otherwise you will be fighting with it more than you will be using it. You can add a vibrator to help with the problem also.

You need a vibrator on it to run sand.
