got about 5 inches maybe here, but it compacted down pretty quickyl. had some issues with my Boss V. wings would work but didn't go up and down. checked fluid, it looked low. so i added. but didn't see any signs of a hose or valve leaking, no red anywhere. after adding fluid, it raised up and everything was fine. kept plowing, few hours later, same thing, only this time, it didn't raise, and the wings didn't work. so i took the cover off the pump and checked my wires and connections. no leaks, other than some fluid this time out of the overflow. (added too much fluid thinking i had a leak and i wanted to just get the plow raised, so i could drive and get the real problem fixed.)
i ended up looking at the electrical connection from the batterys, no the big harness. it was completely pressed together with d-grease inside of it. for the heck of it, i undid that connection and then reconnected it. went inside the truck, and everything worked fine. and it worked the rest of the morning, at least this happened in the early morning hours when it was just starting to get daylight. for some reasons the parking lots lights were all out last night. not sure what caused this. especially the first time, when just the lift cyl wasn't working and the wings were.

i'm going to pull it into a garage tomorrow and go over it, and have a friend check things out while i operate the plow.

anyone ever have this happen to them before?

my only mistake was to add more fluid the second time it happened(because it was still a bit low). the pump began spewing red fluid out the rest of the morning while i was doing a few driveways.

thanks for your help.

Yes! First thing I tell my guys when they have any problem is to check the 13 pin plug. Those things, for some reason, can be tempermental. Some times it's as easy as taking it apart, tapping any snow or moisture out of them, and reconnecting. I have found that usually the simplest fix is the right one.

I usually clean all the plugs with soap and warm water and a brush, even a toothbrush, to get the terminals all clean. I'll take a small rag and drill bit or small screwdriver to get female ones. Than regrease them all with di-electric. This keeps the problems to a minimum. I'll do this after every few storms, or as time allows.

yeah. i had just cleaned all the plugs two storms ago, and put fresh grease in them. it wasn't the 13 pin actually, it was just the hot/ground two wire connection. it wasn't even coming apart, just needed to be tweaked and it worked. never had that happen before. still can't figure out why the first time, the wings worked but the plow wouldn't raise up. i have to do some trouble shooting tomorrow and make sure that everything is working correctly before next weeks supposedly big event.
