What does a 16x35 steal plate covering an 8 foot deep hole an inch of snow and a plow truck doing 40mph the other night equal?

A totalled stearling, a shooked up driver and a contractor in big trouble with the state. See pics below.

The contracot was told friday he had to have the hole filled in and concreted. We don't allow steel plates on the road during the winter for this very reason.

The driver is okay just a little stiff. The plow hit the plate and it cut thru the moldboard and even bent the ram and lift bar. the front of the truck stayed up on the plate and the rear dropped in the open hole. the truck was just loaded with salt.

Someone better call there insurance agent. Id say that contractor has alot of explaining to do. Looks like it almost ripped the entire rear end off the truck. How deep was the hole?

WOW...that must have been some surprise and jolt to that operator. I can't believe that the rear end was almost ripped off like that.

Bam yes the plow you saw going up Old Baltimore Pike used to be attached to that truck. The accident happened on Rt.4 and the contractor responsible for the incident is a very large and nationally know company. Hint- they are national known for pipe line work. Thank god they are a large and properous company because Deldot wants the cost of replacement from them.

Sno feel free to copy those pics. Anyone else is free to copy them too.

Jay I'm not sure of the exact year but all our sterlings are within a few years old.
