Does the building have a concrete floor? If so do you protect it from the salt? Where does the run off go, in the event you get wet salt?
I need to build something outdoors for salt this summer. I am afraid to ask the government how or what they require. Like for drainage or for the salt water debris.
I was told to use asphalt for the base and not concrete.

Bob yes the floor is concrete.

The building is part of a fertilizer plant (this section was no longer in use for storage of fertilizer to small). There are farm chemicals located at the facility also, so it is set up to handle any run off and be contained.

We have a deal worked out with them for the storage and unloading of our salt.

That is a very nice web site. A lot of information about salt.
It even details the loss in revenue due to major storms and the impact snow removal services has on the commerical revenue stream. There is a lot of material there to assist in promoting ones services.
Thanks for the heads up on a great site.

I have to say that is nice to back in under cover and load up with the salt. Rich I thought that was your garage for a min. and thought why the boys didn't set up doing the trucks in there .
