Western,

IF you not too far away I would see if you have time to go look at it first..

There is a holes in the frame in the cross beam.. right next to the ride side rail.. and I just noticed that the seller just poinited it out.. so it needs a new crossbeam

as it a project truck.. may not be too much of a issue if you see it in person

also looks like the cyclinder for the dump bed needs repair or replace...

for $500 may not be that bad...

things like this I like to see in person...

I'd definitely want to see it in person before bidding on it.

That was my first thought also.........

Good luck trying to find solid straight replacement panels for that.................

Ill admit its rare that you see an old W with dual wheels but its beyond worth it to restore that in my opinion.........

Save your money Western22288.................the longer you save the nicer the rig you'll afford bub....

If I had one, I may buy that one for parts, like that dual rear.

I think that is too far gone to be a base for a restoration.

thanks for the fast replies, we decied agaist it for a few reasons. itll be hard to find parts for, it needs more money then i cand afford, id be payin for parts as it would be my truck, my father would just help me put it together and get it going. i really do like the truck, its the first 1970's dodge dually ive seen in 4wd and its the first one ive seen with a plow. it would be perfect for doing landscaping which is another reason i like it. i think im gonna wait till i find another truck that needs less work. i dont mind doing mechanical work as im currently going to school to become an automotive technition. its body work i would rather stay away from. my f-250 has been giving me plenty of mechaincal work though

ok i just looked at the auction and saw the winning bid......$450 i wish i would have bid on it. i was thinking it would go up to about $800 by the time the auction ended. but nope, man i wish i would have bid that $450. i feel stupid now, i shouldnt have let that slip away at the good off a price:headwall

There are those good deals you really need to pass up on.

Rust repair on a frame is no easy task, what looks like solid metel, a welder will blow right though and be more of a pain in the butt than you think to repair.

Imagine how stupid you'd feel when you've got damn near the cost of a new truck invested in this thing by the time you've got it up and running. Then you've still got an old truck that will need repaired again and again and again.......

Been there, done that. Won't do it again!

That truck needed quite a bit of work.Like was mentioned, maybe you got away cheap by not getting it. Anytime the frame is rotted, your in for a lot of work, and repairing it isnt always possible if its rusted bad enough.
