I don't know whether or not to find this thread amusing or disturbing. You see today I wnet out this am to check my comercial accounts, met my wife at WalMart and was headed to my Dad's garage to do some work, and when I got in the truck I smelled somthing- I ran my windshield wipers to clear my window and noticed smoke coming fom my steering column!!!! And the windshield wipers were still moving slowly!!

I shut my truck off and got down to pull the fuse out of the panel, and lukily got it in time. So I spent the day pulling my steering column apart and replacing the wiper switch that had started to melt down on me!!!

So this week so far I have replaced my alternator, rebuilt my steering column, replaced my plow lights(did that today since they were starting to crack and get loose, I had them there so did it while the truck was in the garage and it was warm), oh- and I also replaced the serpentine belt on my alternator Monday am getting ready for the storm- go figure!

Oh well- it's better to have these things happen now, that way I am ready to handle the real big storms when they hit!!!

Oh well, time to crack a cold one, sit back relax and laugh about it- since I have a roof to do this weekend, and a deck to try and finsh up. Hope you guys have fun this weekend lowing, I've had some time behind the wheel, and worked the rust off of me and my truck(hopefully!!) now.

wow bill sounds like ya got lucky having all that stuff go before the season starts instead of hitting at 3 am in the middle of a blizzard... hopefully that'll be all ya will have to do for the season...
