I have a 2000 dodge ram 2500 and I wanted to mount the rotory halagen light bar permanamt mount. I was wondering how I should run the wiring. Should I go through my top cargo lamp then through the interior? Then to install a switch should I just run a wire to the battery & a ground?

Is it a strobe, or halogen? You said both. Whats the current draw? If it's halogen rotators in a full length bar, you might need 30 amps. Thats 10G wires for power, and ground. Probably will need a relay as 30 amp switches are not very common. You can't just wire it to the battery, you need some way to turn it off. Give us some more info before you start.

If it is full size or a half bar, my suggestion would be to put it on a back rack. Keeps the unit from rusting onto your truck number one, and offers several different installation options. It you go this route, you can run the wrs down the upright, up the frame rail and into your truck. If using a full bar light, purchase an actual switch box, if a hlaf bar, this would work well also as you could also wire your extra work lights into it also, keep everything neat and orderly. With the boxes, all the switches are fused, and the relays are internal. SIple to get at for replacement.
