Your best bet is probably a wrangler. CJ's are great Jeeps, I used to have one, but if your going to be doing alot of work with it, I'd get something more reliable. Find a nice, say, 99-2002, that should suit you just fine!

A lot of guys seem to have good luck with the S-10 based Blazers. Alan has a couple S-10 pickups he runs in his operation. John D has a Blazer he used for backup and has told me he's been impressed at how well the truck pushes.

No question a jeep TJ wrangler built 97 and newer you cant beat them i have one at a condo we do and i like you have superdutys to bulky for the small drives in that place.

This winter i crashed my service truck during the time it was down i stole my daughters 98 wrangler i bought for her last year she just started driving omg
I put a fisher on that so we had extra plowing power and to be honest i had fun driving that little bugger it is tough however going from a 810 blizzard down to a 7fter but just the same it did us well and who knows maybe i will find my daughter another one and keep both tjs plowing

We have a '95 Wrangler that we use for sidewalks. Initially, when we didn't have as many trucks and the snow came late or heavy, we would use it on small parking lots. Worked great for that and still works great for sidewalks. Just got it repainted last year for the first time. There was a little rust, but not much, needed some bodywork, too. It has the 4.0 inline 6, it's a fantastic engine with tons of power and torque.

I use a 97 tj (wrangler), 5 speed, inline 6 cyl 4.0 with a 6.5' meyers. It's great for driveways. Because I have 3:07 rear axles I plow in low range. As far as upgrades I added the mopar air shocks up front. They do a great job holding the extra weight. I tend not to take jobs too far away, over heating could be a problem with that little radiator.

For you guys running TJ's, anyone using stick shifts or all autos? Are Timbrens or Air shocks used in the front end to handle the extra weight? Looking to build one for all the large sidewalks at our commercial complexes.

With thanks

Jeep Tjs are a good small unit plowing machine. I just bought a newer one and just got all the parts in to make it a light duty commerical plower. Ordered a Rock Crawler 3 inch lift and shocks and gonna change out the bumpers the rear iam gonna make a funtional but good looking ballest bumper.
Gonna run a Warn front bumper and then send it out to Jerres for a speed wing.

I have had a 97, and 98 TJ and they did well for condos this is gonna be used for Doctor and Denist offices and i need to make it has bullet proof has poss , this one i just bought is a manuel and i will probley go to a close ratio trans 1st and reverse is all you use when plowing with a TJ anyway.

We have a '95 that we've been using for walks. A little wide for most 5' walks with a 6.5' Western. That's the reason for the Kubota. But it has worked great for the past 10+ seasons. I think it's broken twice in that time, that it had to be taken out of service. Really noticed it when it was broke. Ours is an auto with the 4.0, awesome engine.

Last year we added Timbrens--should've a long time ago--we carry the plow and about 500#'s of salt in the back along with a spreader and shovels.

I like Fred's idea and even if we do get another Kubota, we will be keeping the Jeep for city walks, small lots, if a Kubota goes down etc.
