Hey guys,
I'd like to install a set of Pro-wings on my Boss 7.5' Super-Duty, but I'm not sure how to handle the box section on the back side of the moldboard. I've seen them on Super-Dutys before but never got a close look at how they handled the install. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Roy

As long as the pin that goes through the mold board clears the ribs, you will be fine.

A friend of mine just installed them on his super duty. I believe he just cut a hole in the box section to access the pin, I will snap some pics next time I see him and post them for you.

Thanks, that would be great. That's what I figured I'd have to do. Do you think it would weaken the box too much?

Go with the wings from www.snowplowsupply.com and you can put the pin on with minimal cutting.

Do those attach with bolts? If so, that would solve a lot of problems. Maybe I'll give them a call and see if they will fit a Boss.

The moldboard is a pin you bolt on.

The other 2 pins bolt on the wing, however we bolted them to the plow.

Here is a pic without the wings on, the back plate was trimmed to fit into the hole. Works good.

Better get that plow sandblasted and painted....Or it won't be around for too much longer. You could weld a section of 3" pipe in that hole to seal it back up. Cant be that good for water to be getting in there.

Right...that is a friend of mines plow, he just bought it this year, got a real good deal on it, so he has some work to do on it when it gets warm again.
He is working on making a cover for the openings so that nothing can get in there. Slowly but surely, its coming together.

Waterchikn,
Thanks for the pics. That's just what I had in mind. It helps to see it already done. If I do it that way I will probably put a drain hole in the bottom of the box section and paint the inside thoroughly.

Lawngodfather,
I'm still checking into the Sno-Wings, but there isn't alot of info around on them. Snow Plow Supply says they're not made for Boss, but I can't see why they won't work. If you can see any reason they wouldn't work, let me know please.

Thanks again for everyone's input.
Roy

They say they wont work for the same reason you had to cut the hole in the boxed portion of the plow.

I think you would be better off with the wings from Tim Wallace on the Boss plow...I have both Buyers and Snow wings.

Just bolt everything to plow...

You can put them on either way. bolt pins to wing or plow.

No problem with the pics, when he gets his "cover" finished, I will post those pics too. And also with the wings on

Tried to order Sno-Wings on Friday, shipping from Ill. to Ohio was going to be $126. OUCH! Shipping weight was 175 lbs. As much as I think they are a better choice, (i.e. stronger, better mounting, etc.), I can't see putting $400 into a set of wings for a plow that will probably be a backup next season. Too bad though, because I really like what I saw of the Sno-Wings brand, but I'd rather put that money towards a new Blizzard 810 or Boss V.

Sooo, to make a long story short, Pro-wings from Angelos, $179.99 shipped, will be here Tuesday.
