In a resent conversation with Wyldman/Chris, I didn't want to butcher the wiring harness, so he suggested using the harness from the Western lights and putting it in the trucklites.

I did a boo boo, I used a torched to cut off mounting bolt on 1 light instead of splitting frozen nut.

So back to the lights...

Take old light apart, get small flat head screw driver, from back side of plug find clip that hold female terminal in plug, then push screw driver in plug and pull wire out.

After you get all 3 out, you will have to cut the turn, running and ground wire.

Next get bigger flat head screw driver and needle nose vice grips, find the squeeze spot in stress grommet clamp vise grips on, then use flat screw driver to push it out of the hole.

Now ,take the Trucklites apart, took stress releifs off pulled turn signal, running and ground wire up some, then snipped them off and disconnected head light plug.

Now I used a round file to make trucklite hole slightly larger, put wires through, then shoved stress releif grommet into hole with wires in it.

Use butt connectors with dielectric grease in them (fill yourself) connect wires......

Gray left turn signal
Purple right turn signal
Brown running lights
Black with Orange stripe ground.

Put terminals back in same plugs.

Crimp wires, put back together, mount, whala....new lights and saved $100 and did not butcher harness still looking factory.

I will get pics monday.

This is going off on a tangent, but why can't we have real headlights on plows? I've got those Trucklite one on all my plows and I find they are about impossible to keep adjusted. Vibration moves mine all over the place. And they are reefed down as snug as I dare. The other bad point is that the square on the bolt, which is all that keeps it from turning, will turn inthe tin socket it fits into and then you can't get the nuts loose to adjust the lights when you need to.

With all the high tech stuff out there why can't we have real headlights on solid mounts with adjusting screws? They work on our trucks,, why not on our plows?
