I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of this particular brand of plow. There is a custom welding facility a couple of miles down the road that carry them. Since I am in the market for a new set up I thought that they might be a consideration.

Ive seen a few of their plows...........

They seem to be pretty well engineered.

I actually wasn't sure if they were still making plows since their website was down the last time I checked............

Well, I've got to say I never heard of them! Does not mean there bad, however consider all points.

Our industry has sprawned many knock-offs and start-up companies, look at snow-pushers for example, several large players, old employees of theirs start there own and on and on. (example...pro-tech and lennox industries) now every local welding shop makes pushers!

I've found over the years to stick with big names that provide quality, commitment to quality and parts availabiliy. such as Fisher, meyers, western. Yes you pay a little more, but there proven products that dominate the market.

My personal reccomendation is either meyers or western if you are doing small commercial or residential and fisher if you are doing large commercial. My company had a fleet of fifty plow vechicles and we used a mix of meyers and fisher. Always happy!

Best of luck and research!

 pretty narrow sighted...

Northman plows are a smaller company that has sold alot of plows regionaly. There are more northman's in my neighborhood than fisher, boss or blizzard.

pretty standard replacement parts...

I would make a decision based on your dealer, price and what you see.

Who cares what plow I go with as the nearest dealer is a 100 miles away.

Thanks Howard for that updated link.............I guess my link that had siouxlan within the www address was out of date...........

I agree with you Howard...............

SERVICE, Dependability, and Operability are key

NOT BIG NAME

Every major company has to start out SOMEWHERE...............Blizzard Plows are a terrific example of that

as well as HINIKER Plows........................

Dont look down the alley straight away explore what there is to offer within it!!!

I have had subs in the past with Northman plows. As stated they have been around a while. Well built plows IMO.

A truck I bought used came with a Northman plow. I don't know how much it was used prior to my purchase of the truck but the truck was a 1994. I bought the truck and used the plow for two seasons. I didn't have one problem and/or complaint.

Western just had its big 50th 'birthday' decals out on plows a few years ago, that would mean they started sometime in the early 50's...:)
