I have a good feeling that we are going to get a shocker and get hammered. The damn weathermen said tonight, It may snow, it may do nothing..........NO $*** give me 70,000 bucks a year and I could say that over live television. "Doppler 5million" seems to have some issues already this year :)

Jay , $70 grand??? LIVE TV .
You work to cheap !!!!!

Lets feel for the weather men and girls for a minute.....

I guess you just have to fill air time Bla Bla Bla and get more viewers to watch .

Accuracy will have to wait, I wounder when we'll see Jeff Fox's
dog again ?

Anyway I looks like it will do something somewhere!plowing!

I wish they would just say that.

something like this..........Attention plowboys....You may want to put your blades on because IT MAY DO SOMETHING SOMEWHERE!!!!

Then at least they would be accurate to a point.

Between Jeff Fox's dog and Scott Haney's Flaming personality and because "Justin Said It Would" we sure do have ourselves quite a bunch of winners as far as TV meteorologists in CT thats for sure.

ArcBurn- I'll jump in!!, buit only if you can set it up for hourly braodcasts to my Cellular phone as well as a my laptop when I'm in the field!! As far as the weather guessers in my area are concerned- they are calling for snow rigt up til Monday, but no signficant accumulations predicted yet- til they see what the wind will bring off of the lake that is!!! Right now it is still snowing here but it's also pretty windy so noting is piling up- just drifting. Tommorrow will be a salting and cleanup day for me. This weekend- well we'll know Fri nigt what's going to happen! LOL!

the only problem that I forsee is that the High pressure system wont get the hell out of the way fast enough to dump on N.W Ny and that it might go below youngstown Ohio and be south 120 or so miles

...SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL POSSIBLE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY ACROSS CENTRAL
NEW YORK AND NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA...

A STORM SYSTEM LOCATED OVER THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WEDNESDAY MORNING
IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO THE OHIO VALLEY THURSDAY NIGHT...WHICH WILL
CAUSE LOW PRESSURE TO DEVELOP ALONG THE CAROLINA COAST. THIS AREA
OF LOW PRESSURE IS THEN EXPECTED TO TRACK TO THE NORTHEAST. THE
EXACT TRACK OF THIS STORM IS UNCERTAIN...BUT SHOULD IT REMAIN CLOSE
TO THE EASTERN SEABOARD...THEN SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS
WOULD BE POSSIBLE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY ACROSS CENTRAL NEW YORK AND
NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA.

LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND UPDATES ON NOAA WEATHER RADIO, OR
VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT WEATHER.GOV.

Big Nate's Plowing
12-03-2003, 11:31 AM
it is still going south because the area of high pressure is almost stationary, but once the low that is going through the Ohio valley meets the other low coming up from florida it should have enough leverage to run the high pressure out, dont expect a barnburner but it should make for atleast 2-3" widespread depending on the temps

POSSIBILITY OF LIGHT SNOWFALL TO SECTIONS OF THE POCONOS IN
NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA. LITTLE OR NO SNOW IS ANTICIPATED FOR THE
MAJORITY OF THE REGION...INCLUDING ALL OF CENTRAL NEW YORK.

ALTHOUGH THE PROSPECTS FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL HAVE DIMINISHED...

the Weather Guessers are now saying out to sea for the Boston Area. However they also said that the bands of snow from the great lakes effect yesterday would not reach past the Berkshires.

They are saying the same thing for us- staying south, we might get a little precip from it, but highly unlikely.
We've been getting enough lake effect though, so I'm happy with that- we've gotten about 16-18" total, and they are calling for more tonight. I will have to go out in about an hour to plow again.

From what the weather guys said tonight its a very close call. They said the computers are showing the heavy snow(up to 1 foot) just south of conn in long island sound.A jog 50 miles to the north and ct will be buried. They said its something they really cant predict but have to watch every time a new computer model comes in.It seems to me they are learning towards it staying out to sea though.
