And Chris, and Jerre, and others who persuaded me to pull the trigger on the 810.

Some may recall the after-market bumper clearance and light question. Solved with a drill bit.....
This also solved the wobbling light rack problem and made it very easy to mount the High Intensity Discharge Lights.

And an encore thanks to Jerre for this idea in the first place....
And for his guidance to the local dealer about extra wing spring installation.. ..

Peter, Great job there. I thought of the switches on the side like you did but liked them in the top panel better so the panel could be taken out during the summer. I use a different control stick too instead of the factory stick and use different switches but that works good too. You'll love the door control.
P.S. Nice job on the brush guard and lights

He did, http://www.snowplowing-contractors.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1668&highlight=door+and+control
There is some more discussion of this topic in the SnoWay section under wireless controllers.
The hardest part of the installation was fishing the plug through the little hole between the rubber flex tubing (between the door and the truck) and the dash area. The metal in this area is sharp, but the cuts on my fat little hands will heal, and the utility is worth it.

you aren't kidding about the sharp metal. My hands look like theyve been through a butcher shop. Most guys don't understand what it takes to route some of the custom stuff hence in my market they aren't willing to pay for it. However I went a step farther on the last few I did off the door on the fords. Drill a hole in the door panel and bring it out the lower corner. Plug is under the dash...That way when the wires fail ( and they will ) you can plug another controller in while the other get's repaired.

Pbeering that is one hell of a sweet setup you have going there!!!
The bumper has that backwoods forest fire fighting truck look to it which makes that look even more rugged with the big 810 on the front...................
I like it A LOT................
Great custom fab work...............Sent Curt and Nels and the boys at Blizzard some pictures of your custom work!!!

Where are the other switches for the lights and power hitch? Also where how did you mount the electronices from the control? Do you need any other parts besides the controller?
Thanks, Ken

The circuit board is attached to the joy stick. The rest is switches. I put the rubber piece on top since the water tends to drip off the open window.
Only change I'd make would be to slide the rocker switches forward about 3/4"
I deliberately mounted the control and light switches under and out of the way. Also mounted the LED indicator light so that it wouldn't shine in a distracting way.

that's a nice job. i'll be doing that this weekend. Any more tips/ticks to make it go smoother?
i don't have power acc's so i may have more room to move the stick around and maybe get the switches on top

Go to the hardware store and get a combo drill/cutting bit. Also have a flat file to do the final shaping.
I made templates out of some spare plastic sheet with a sharpie and a razor blade.
I also lubed the end of the plug with dielectric grease before feeding it through the rubber wire tube between the door and the truck.
Be sure to make a wire diagram before you disconnect anything.
