I have a 1996 Jeep cherokee, and I was hoping to put a SnoWay plow on it.
I would like to know everything and anything there is to know.
What would the limitations be? What modfications should be done to my Jeep? How much would the plow cost, with and without install?
And any other information you'd be willing to share.

I have a 1996 Cherokee and I have plowed with it for years now with a 6.5' Western Uni-Mount..........
I did 0 modifications to it besides a better battery and a few buckets of sand salt in the back for ballast..............
The truck will handle a SnoWay just fine.................You might want a set of Timbrens if it sags but otherwise you'll be pretty much all set................in my opinion.............

I put a SnoWay 6.8-foot ST model on my Jeep YJ, and so far it's been a great plow. It's light, but the down-pressure allows it to perform like a much heavier unit.
After only one year, the plow started lowering on its own after about five minutes. I either have a blocked valve or my raising/down-pressure cylinder has problems.
Don't buy one unless there is a dealer close to you. The only one around me that can handle repairs is more than an hour away, and I just don't have the time to get there.
Of course this happened when the unit was about one week out of its warranty, so I was really under the gun to get it to the shop. After a call to SnoWay, I was told they would "probably" honour the warranty. Probably just isn't good enough. This plow should not have this problem after one year. The truck was used strictly on a back-up basis last year, so it had only been lightly used about 10-15 times.
Now it's about a month over the warranty period, so I guess I'm out of luck.
I like the plow, but I don't think I'd buy another one due to the lousy support in my area.
I'd be willing to bet there's a speck of dirt in the down valve keeping it from seating completely. As long as the sink rate is staying the same it's probably dirt, if the problem is getting worse it may be a seal on the piston. One of mine is doing the same thing, but as long as it goes slow and I can bump the button occasionally it's no big deal and not worth going after.
I, too, am looking into getting a SnoWay for my XJ. After a few years of that, if I'm still into it, maybe getting a F250SD.
Anyways.
SPJ......what kind of transfer case do you have in your cherokee? I have the NP231 (part time 4x4 only :wah ). Think that would be bad for plowing (turning and stuff)?
