Need to replace the thermostat on a friends car, and was wondering what the best brand out there is. Or am I best to go with the dealer's replacement. :feedback

I agree. Stants have worked fine for me in the past. Stick to the stock temperature thermostat as well. Alot of people like to go down to a 160 thinking they will get more horsepower because the car/truck will run much cooler. Running cool is a good thing sometimes, not all the time. Running too cool in the winter will not allow the motor to get up to a hot enough temperature to burn off any condensation, and eventually you will have a build up of white moisture in your motor oil. No good. I know because this was starting to happen with my Camaro SS. I quickly took out the 160 and went back to the stock 180 temperature therostat, and after a while, it cleared itself up. I was surprised to even find the 180 on my car stock. I figured it would be a 195 like my truck, but nope. Mike :)

They all work pretty good, never found one brand better than the other.
I have had problems with those so-called "fail-safe" t-stats.Just get a regular one,it will work fine.
