Anyone got an A-frame for a MM1?
We got called out last night, so I'm on my way when...I'll spare you all the details, but for no apparent reason, a Durango decided to stop in the middle of the road at the bottom of the hill I was descending. I wasn't going fast, but the road was slick. It was either take out the Durango, or make it to the side of the road. I dropped the plow, slid off the side of the road, did some bushwhackin' and finally came to a hard stop up against a large tree. The plow actually saved me. Had I not had it on, it would have been ugly. Anyway, I got back on the road and the Durango was gone!
The lift chain popped the link where it attaches to the A-frame. I drove with the blade down back to my house. Got the chain fixed and raised the blade. It's hanging real low to one side, so I look, and sure enough the A-frame is racked.
So frustrating! It's always something!
Hope you guys had a safe and profitable event!

Got a new A-frame from CPW. My local dealer didn't have any, not that I thought they would stock something like that, but wanted to see what he could do since we do most of our business with him. He made some calls and apparently his supplier is waiting to get them in. He couldn't tell me how long. So I pulled out my CPW catalog, called them up. They had 7 in stock. $260.00 and I should have it in a couple of days.
I guess it could be worse. Whenever I think about how bad I got it, I then immediately think about the soldiers who are fighting for us, and how they haven't seen their kids, families, etc in so long. It really puts things in perspective for me. I say my prayers and realize how thankful I really am.

I did a search but couldn't find anything. Anyone know what size and grade the Fisher MM1 lift chain is?

I will no longer deal with CPW after what they did to me. I ordered a new quadrant for a western pro ultra mount plow and they sent me the uni mount pro plow quadrant. I told them what they did wrong so i returned it and they said the right quadrant will be shipped out in the AM...well 2 weeks went by and no quad..they said the owner was looking over the one i returned for the past 2 weeks and when he gave them the okay he would be sending out the correct one..so they laid me up for 3 weeks total..i ended up going to my western dealer and order the part and had it within 2 days

They are both the same link size chain and they ARE Fisher chain.............It was all cased in OEM Fisher casing as a package... I have the brand new headgear sitting on a shelf at the shop waiting for a rainy day to wire the lights so that I can use it as a decoration or something...........

Jay's is for the conventional plows. The MM1s use a nine foot length of chain. That is enough for the ring in the lift triangle and for the safety chain. This allows you to adjust to your truck.

Hey Mike,
Your A frame and Quad are sitting in the parts dept, by the door, better go pick them up before they grow legs.
Might need them next week if winter returns.

Got my new a-frame today. After Mike's post I was nervous about what they would actually ship. It's the correct frame, and even included a new center pin and a new lift chain. Must be a kit. Thanks for the pics and your offer Jay, I do appreciate it!
Now I just have to get it stripped down and back together tomorrow as it looks like we have more snow coming in on wednesday. Shouldn't be too tough, just pins and some weighty steel to lift off.

I hope you have good luck with everything now for the rest of the winter!!! No more headaches!!!

I'm used to buying A-frames for the MM1. I've been through 3 in 5 years, and the current one is fairly well egged out at the pivot pin. It's too bad they wouldn't put bushings in there to allow replacement. There just isn't enough steel to keep it from wearing through both the plow and the A-frame after lots of use.
