Well, since the weather here in MD is a bit on the warm side, I had a few days to kill so I worked on a little project ive been wanting to do. Originaly the swtiches and controls for the plow / salt spreader / warning beacon/ backup lights and such were mounted on the underside of the dash. Well this made it a bit awkward to reach so I built a custom panel to house everything, including an old scanner I had. Which if for nothing else is good to instant weather reports. Now atleast, the plow control is withing arms reach from the center armrest. A little more comfortable if nothing else.
Check it out see what ya think.

Looks good
I just finished this one today myself. It's made out of diamond plate and 1"pipe. Pretty durable and it kept everything grounded.
I added another fuse box and a small light. Seems to work pretty good

It tilts forward and up to the seat when in use and down when not in use. This makes it real easy to access everything.

Looks very nice... something I should be working on as well (I'll add it to my very very very long to do list).
Nice setup 1BadHawk,
I do however have to ask you why you put the actual plow joystick there?
Isn't it a far reach for it? And with your shift hand too. Wouldn't the plow control be better accessed with your left hand, leaving your right hand to shift from D to R.
Just a thought. Switch box and switches are real nice!
Where do you get a housing like that?

The entire thing was made from scratch. I didnt start taking pictures until the basic shape was constructed.
The joystick was prety much limited to where I could put it due to the length of wiring. Although it works much better now then where it was. Atleast this way I can operate it with my arm on the arm rest. Yes, Ill have to switch from control to shifter but thats ok. Im not much of a right hand driver any way.
If it werent such a pain in the but to sand everything smooth, I would mass produce them. But its like drywall work, paste, dry, sand, paste, dry sand, more sand and yet more sanding.
This fall Im going to make a new salt spreader housing, to hold more salt. The one I have now stands too tall over the tail gate and its difficult to see behind. The one I want to build is much like the wester, wider and yet not so tall. Should be pretty easy to do.
Kick ass box! Not picking it apart, but when you get some down time get some SEM paint product so it blends in with your interior better. Weather I'm building an addition or modding on my car it's a must that everything be a smooth transition so it does'nt look outta place, just anal about that kinda stuff I guess:cool:
Regardless nice concept and execution
