I sold my unimout plow to a friend of mine with a '00 Dodge. I bought a mount and lighting wiring harness on Ebay for him and installed it all. I also bought the extra relay kit because because its a 3500 and my dealer said that it would be a good idea to help save the factory headlight switch.

I'm having problems with the high-low beams. The high beams on the plow do not work. The headlights on the plow come on with the parking lights. Also, when the plow is unhooked the high beam indicator light on the truck in on wheather the high beams are on or not. The headlights just plug in so I don't think anything is wired wrong. I checked all the relay and everthing is wired right.

I read in the instructions that '99 and later Dodges may need a different wiring harness. The date on the one I have is '96. It there anything I can do to make this harness work right or do I need the '99 and later harness? Everthing else works perfect.

I just went thru this on a customers Dodge with a Fisher(Fisher and Western harness's are the same)Plow had been on 3 trucks,94' a 96' and then someone installed it on a 99' with the same harness,no matter what i tryed i couldn't get everything to work and had the same symptoms as yours, then it hit me,wrong harness.Save yourself the headaches and get the correct headlight harness, the Western harness is under $50,can't think of the part # off hand but it will save you tons of trouble.

Don's right, just change the harness,as it's different.I have a few of them, but the cost of shipping it to you is probably more than it is worth.
