You must have some drives with some steep angles... Your plow might be configured incorrectly for your truck or it might not need a stack stop at all. What year and make of truck?

Your truck should be on the high end of a #2 setting or a #3 setting. Most SD's are usually a 3 though and a stack stop is not needed with a 3. We need to figure out if the plow is built correctly for your truck, so this is wht you need to do...
Take a measurement from the ground to the top edge of the receiver pocket (have plow in lowered position if attached to truck). I also need you to look at the pivot plates on the plow. This is where the A-frame/pivot bar meets the lower lift frame. Need to know if the plates are set with the flat side up or the curved side up.
Also need to know what hole the pin is in if you look at the plate from the side if you start counting from the bottom.
Let me know if your not sure of what your looking for and i will find some pics on westerns site to help you out.

Try this link http://westernplows.com/pdf/63886_083104.pdf
Page 7 for configuration and Page 10 for slack stops.
Although this is for a MVP I do belive you should check you measurement before mounting the plow.

I just changed my Western Ultra from configuration 2 to 4, and did not use the stacking stop. I have been wanting to change for a while, I had a 3 inch leveling kit and BFG 295's put on. Truck was down for 2 weeks with blown transmission, so I finally changed the configuration. I have not noticed any problems with not using the stop, and I plowed for 16 hours this week already. I did get a stop from my local shop this week, but have not put in on yet. Again, I have not noticed any difference with not using the stop, going from configuration 2 to 4.
