Tire Scratch

I just got a 96 2500 and when I put it in 4 high you can feel the tires scratch if you make a hard turn in either forward and reverse. You also see scratch marks in the gravel. Is this normal? I have had this happen with the lock up setting on the Jeeps, but not in a full time 4wd truck. Any thoughts?

I think that maybe normal . If I am in 4hi on dry pavement funky things happen because there isnt any way to "slip "

That is normal.The front are rear drivetrains are locked together in 4WD,so it will hop,skip,drag tires,etc when turning hard on pavement on gravel.

You truck is only part time 4WD.It's not meant for full time use on pavement.
