Will an 8'2" BOSS Vee Plow (Older RTII) fit in the back of an 8' long pickup truck bed?

Anyone ever try it? Or have any suggestions?

I was thinking about putting the wings straight, and stand it up on the front of the moldboard? Like you'd do to an older straight blade?

I have access to a crane that can lift it.

What are your thoughts?

Yes,it will work.Just make sure the thing is well tied down.It wouldn't hurt to drain the system so it doesn't leak fluid all over the place. You may also want to unblot the headlamps so you have more room, and prevent damage.

Thanks!

I was going to post about the fluid, as I figured it would leak out when tilted up like that.

I would probably remove the headlights too, as they would be resting on the bedside most likely.

Do you think I'd be able to get the tailgate to close?

I don't think the gate will close with the plow in it.It's longer than 8 feet.

We brought a Fisher V 8'6" in a pickup in the v- mode the tailgate closed.

Do you have to close the tailgate? A couple of straps and the weight of the unit will hold it in the bed.

Well, it may be travelling 1113 miles in the back of the bed.

So V position may work too?

I'll have to measure a bit, but that sounds a little better than what I was originally thinking.

It's 91" wide in the V position, that much I know.

I don't see why you won't be able to leave it in the V position. When I brought mine back from Ohio it seemed like there was room to spare. I left the lights on it too. So I think you'll be okay.

The fun part was getting it out as I didn't have access to a hoist or crane. Couple of planks, straps and winch.. then I raised the dump bed very slowly. :D

The truck is now sold, and I will not have to worry about putting the plow in the bed. The person that is buying it will be hauling the entire truck/plow/spreader on an equipment trailer.

Glad to know it will fit though...

Wonder if my new 9.2 would fit

Not that I need it to though.
