Adjusting spring tension

I'm replacing a broken spring on my wing. I'm not sure of the correct tension to adjust the spring at . On trip springs they are adjusted so that you can slip a dollar bill between right? Are these adjusted the same. I'm adding an additional spring to each side, hopefully this will help in not breaking another spring plus the wings will be alittle stiffer when backdragging. Thanks for any and all help.

Just so you have light between the 2nd and third full coils
