I got my registration renewal for my Dodge/Cummins tonight, when I opened the envelope there was a suprise. Right from the NYS DMV there is a pamplet from Ford,a 50 dollar voucher, and a few pics of the 05 SDs,they were touting there "best in class HP diesel, and "best trailer pulling power" claims. If i test drive the SD they will give me 50 bucks, the dealer needs to fill in the one section, and im golden. Sounds pretty desperate to me.Funny how they targeted a Dodge diesel owner....... Im sure they got that info from the DMV as well. Amazing how everyone is selling what should be private info about us anymore. I was thinking of showing up for the test ride, and offering to buy the truck IF it had more power than my "old, tired, noisey Cummins:D

How do you think Car Fax gets vehicle milage at certian dates?
Our state Sells the info to them, along with other data, this comes from someone who work in the DMV.
But thats to funny.
I know ford is pushing to sell trucks, Heck when I bought My new one this spring , I got loads of rebates
$2500.00 or 0%,
$1000.00 upfit for plow
$1000.00 F- Series Fast cash
$500.00 FMC rebate.
Plus about $4000.00 off sticker
My truck $32,700 sticker My cost $23,500.:D :D
Just matters when you catch the rebates.
I could not justify buying a used one for anywhere from $15k-20k.
:headwall
Just waiting to put some time in with the new Plow!

I think you should go get the $50 bucks, and then take the salesman for a test drive in YOUR truck.See if he ever goes back to Ford after that.I'd love to see the look on his face when you hammer down. omg

On second thought, make sure he uses one of those plastic seat protectors, just in case he has a little "accident". ;)

John
I was thinking maybe ask him to checkyour tailights for you then shoot him maybe then they would think twice about asing for you to go for a test ride. Ford doesnt need to do the mass marketing and i too hate the thouhtof my buss and personal mail box being full of mail from my name being put on list, ford just doesnt need to do that they already own the market:D

I knew what you meant Fred:D .One good shot of soot from the coal furnace shouldnt hurt much:D . It bothers me a little that Ford is thumping there chest about best HP and towing power. One of our members here has both (maybe he will chime in)an 04 SD 6.0 F350srw and an O4 Cummins 2500 , he says the Cummins is stronger hands down, and much more low end. The Dodge is giving 45 ft lbs more torque and giving it over 500RPM sooner .The Hp is dead even, but you will be able to tow much better with a Dodge, it will hold hi gear a lot longer on grades.

All the trucks mags, auto mags, trailer mags all are hypeing the 05 ford diesel as strongest of the 3. Seems the print media plays round robin with the big 3 every year. 02-03 duramax was tops
04 dodge was, and now 05 ford is on top.The truck makers whore themselves out to the media to get press. Nevr a matter of what truck is better, just who spends the most in advertising.

Theres a few guys on the TDR that have both trucks, some have all 3 .They all say the same thing the Ford is strong, but you gotta keep the RPMS up on hills. These guys tow pretty heavy ,hotshot trucks, mostly. For towing heavy the Dodge is the better truck. In 04 ,the performance results had the Dodge head of both Ford, and Chevy for the 325hp/600. Now the 05 Dodge is 610 ft lbs, still 325hp.
