Both myself and one of my drivers were looking at where the paint reflects on the plow, and it we both swear it has a blue hue to it. Alot like have snow will reflect blue at times. Are we crazy??

It was just a question. I was wondering if blizzard did this purposely to try and mimic snow with a high water content. If so I think it was ingenious, much like the plow its self.

White is all the colors in the spectrum so if a reflection is what you are looking at you will see blue if it is under incandescent lights. They are yellow and opposite blue in the spectrum Just like Chris’s picture next to his post Sigmund Freud would say Chris is trying to give a negative impression of himself to us. But if u look closely at it you might be able to flip the colors.

To answer your questing I would have to say you are about as crazy as most here. Maybe you are suffering from green color desperation as Fred pointed out due to lack of white

Is Blizzard offering :cash for all the the antidotal success stories ?
One would think the other manufacturers should just lock the doors and turn out the lights .

The other manufacturers need to play catch up now.Blizzard has set a pretty high new standard in today's plow market, and not just with the 810\8611's.Easy hookup, huge beefy quadrants and a-frames,and good fast hydraulics.I hope to see some new innovations soon from the other manufacturers. There are lots of great ideas posted here in these forums,so they better get reading. :D

I guess in a way Blizzard is offering money for sucess stories, the money that people are making with them. Seems to be a good product they created... plus they look cool

Well Dino, Had you come to Erie I would have explained that it is part of the new powder coat process. The additives they are using causes an Ice Blue look to the plow under the right light conditions. They have added Teflon and other additives to create a coating that flows better when baked and holds up better under use. The down side. Stuff is so good the stickers won't stay on.

Yeah I think I will stay with the tried and true performer.
Can you imagine what those 8611 will look like when 15000+ lbs are pshing it. Can you say tin foil!!!

Well from what I just re-read I suppose that that hue would be the color of Under Engineered Junk Dino...................

BUT I know that you said Originally posted by urethane dino I could use more tact that is for sure.

:D (all for fun of course) :D
Mods do as you please with the thread just trying to show that even the stubborn and the blind give in and give BLIZZARD a chance in the end....

Got o answer you question about money from blizzard for sponsorship today i got a 4,000 from blizzard in the mail for the three threads i posted i get a 1,000 from Jerre for having him in my sig line just kidding :D

Iam the worst when it comes to new products three years ago i talked to a blow hard from mich selling blizzards i was turned off big time . I read a bunch here began a trust factor with Jerre and had great respect and trust for what Pelican, and jonny D were saying about sucess with blizzard.

On t-day this year the blizzard and Jerre Heyer sealed the deal after 22+ hours of plowing this year i have mothballed one truck for know the erie special has she is s proudly named is doing the work of two trucks enough said . Iam a smart buss person i gamble and i make mistakes but this gamble has gave me three blue 7's Blizzard will climb to the top of the heap not because of mass maketing but the most important kind of advertisting WORD OF MOUTH

Fred,

I am right with you. Over the past two season I had made issue with the Blizzard product and that is when I was just looking at adding one plow.

In the end I own two 810's and that means Blizzard Plows are now responsable for 66% of my account list. I am sure by the end of the season I will be looking to sell my MVP and put a 810 on the third truck.

So far the Downeaster unit is also performing well and I can see Blizzard/Donweaster combo on any pick up truck I own now and in the future.

I feel the same way.I almost wish that i hadnt added the wing at the same time,so so i could see the exact time savings I had. Adding both was basically doubling what could do,in a given amount of time. I know since i got my 810 ,i have steered more than a few friends to buy them, none have been dissapointed. It was my confidence in Jerre Heyer, and Pelicans experience with them ,and finally that dreaded boss center shoe ripping off for the 6th time, that put me over the edge.

Guys,
Used to be a contractor back in the day till I injured myself. Am now a lawn and snow equipment dealer outside of Detroit MI. Many of you may remember me last year as the guy who powdercoated a Blizzard from white to red for a customer. Pictures are on this site if you search, Anyways, I love the blizzard as I had to get really intimate with it to pownercoat it, a frame and all. I am thinking about becoming a Blizzard dealer. We are now a Western dealer, and work on all makes and models, including old Fishers and artics. I tell guys all the time about the Blizzard, as I even have a picture of the restored one on the counter. When I was a contractor, yea, you were always on the lookout for a deal. But if you found something that was more expensive but saved you time, you bought it becuse in the long run you could make a lot more money. These guys that come in my shop today have the penny wise dollar foolish mentality. Some of these guys are really hurting. To get them to spend the extra $1000.00 on a Blizzard is like pulling teeth in my market. You should hear the complaining over having to pay $3500.00 for a Western. I've directed some guys to this site, but most of them are like Fred, very resistant to change. Sometimes I might as well pound my head into the wall!!! Anyways, I wish more of my customers thought like you guys, would make my life a whole lot easier:D :D

Promower,

If you have the resources to deliver good service than over time the Blizzard line will sell itself and in time guys will be asking for it.

I recently added some new lawn equipment and after looking around I went with Great Dane Super Surfers. When I started using them other guys were stopping all the time asking me about how did I like them and the "HOW MUCH DO THEY COST" question. When they would hear the price they would say "I can buy two walk behinds for that price. Then I would ask them if they could cut my account list in the same time with walk behinds with the same quality and they would just walk away. That was two seasons ago. Now I see some of the same guys with GDSS and a few of them have told me they can not belive how much time they wasted in the past using walk behinds.

It takes time for people to realize the true meaning of "IT TAKES MONEY TO MAKE MONEY". This is what sets the very successful business owner aside from just a business owner.

I'd like to see the blizzard plow, but in total I think I've seen one blizzard mounted on an expedition during a storm and maybe a dozen or so mounts in the off season. They just dont seem to be out there yet. If blizzard had more dealers around I think they'd be hot on the market, but it seems like they dont have the dealer coverage like western or fisher.

Ron,
We get the same responses from people we demo a Hustler or Dixie chopper to, that now use Bobcat or Exmark mowers!!! Wait till the new Gatestar is available in the spring!!!

I think next year we will become a Blizzard dealer.

we had a cusomer that had 6 walk behinds and 5 or 6 guys working for him. been pounding him for 3 years to buy a rider. Finally did so in June of this past year. Is down to 2 guys and put 350 hours on his machine from june to nov. Said he was crazy for not doing it sooner!! Some people you just can't tell anything to !!! JOHN

I love our new 8611. It cleans fantastically compared to a v-blade. I plowed 2 lots with it that I haven't plowed before, so I wasn't able to get a good time comparison on it.

Too bad its on such a POS truck that we could only get approx 10 hours of plowing on it before the tranny started going out. (See Ford forum.)

Apparently quality is Job 1 when they decide to get around to it and Ford tough isn't anything to brag about either. :grinz
