Thinking of a newer truck for the growing family, 1/2 ton truck 03-04 ext. short bed chevy Z71 but wanting to keep the blade and switch. Will it be too much weight? Just plowing a couple of driveways and (6) small lots for our business.
Thanks for all the info.

I think it would be fine, but Im not sure how much your Boss 7.5' plow weighs compared to other namebrands. I know my 7.5' Western weighs about 700 or so, maybe even a drop more because of that new heavier 5/8" cutting edge that it has on it. I think your plow would weigh "roughly" the samething, and thats fine for a half ton truck, my truck is a half ton too. Mike :)

My friend just traded in his Western on a Boss 7'6" V. The truck 98 1500 Z71 holds the weight fine. He will be adding about 400lbs of ballast in the bed.

I just a few weeks ago put a new BOSS 7.5 standard duty ( alittle less weight ) on my new 04 1500 extended cab Chevy. It handles it very well. The front end dips somewhat but not as much as I had expected it to sag. I think you would have no problems with the little heavier one. Good luck, these Boss plows are 1 nice unit. Cannot even start to compare it to my old Meyers.

I just put a 7' 6 standard on my 94 Silverado. A little bit older but I put Timbren's on the front and cranked the torsion bars up. Handles the plow like a dream, and it doesn't bottom out the front at all. I'm extremely impressed with the way the truck handles it. Good luck.
