The wiring harness and the instruction manual illustration are different. There are only two wires to th eswitch..one is suposed to ground while the other in in the main harness.
The harness itself has a black wire which loops into the main harness..not an open port for the Green/Yellow ground lead..
So I hooked it without the GR lead, but it didn;t work. Then tried gounding either wire...still didn't work...then tried switching the two leads on the switch..still didn't work...
The switch isn't grounded, but shouldn't have to be..??
The purpose of the switch is to ground a relay to swwitch over the headlights on the plow tower...

Any ideas??

Green wire to switch

from switch back the black wire to ground.

Next run a ground strap off your lightbar to the truck.

Everything else works. Will try a ground to the light bar, next. Everything is working except the headlights.

We checked, and you can hear the relays clicking under the hood when the switch is flipped, but the headlights stay on on the truck and the light bar headlights stay off.

The headlights on the lightbar are not grounded.

It's a poor ground to the lightbar problem.

Alta, If the relays are switching under the hood when you flip the switch in the cab then the relays are doing what they should.

Head light adapters pluged in?
Are the truck lights turning off and the plow lights not coming on?

LGF.........THERE IS NO "GROUND" BAD on the headlights on the light tower. The new plugs have 6 wires. t/s, run light, (t's run light GROUND), high beam switch, low beam switch, ( high/low beam COMMON )

Jerre

Alta, Assumptions here are, 1 you used the right headlight adapters and have them plugged in, You have working running lights on the plow ( both sides ) ( which would also put the plow lights plugged in ).

Call if you still have a problem but from the reading above it sounds like you don't have the adapters in or the right adapters.

The headlights have a common ( white with red stripe )

This needs to corespond with the non striped wire on your truck.

Here's some of the problem...You have a Dodge sport. It has 4 headlights and will require the 050 adapter kit for the lights and all 4 plugs on both sides have to be plugged in. If you got the 012 or 011 kit it will not work.

Your truck will have a red with orange stripe and purple with white stripe on the original plug. These correspond to the green and yellow stripes on the adapters.

The headlights on th etruck are too dim and the highbeam induiccator is on, but dim when on low beam.
??
I tried grounding the bolt of the Blizzard HL to the truck radiator support, but it made no difference.

Any ideas.

Does one of the headlight wires need to be grounded? I haven't tried the headlights without the Blizzard light tower hooked.-

CLEAN all of the connctors for the original light plugs on the truck. All it takes is a little corrosion and it won't work right. No other grounding needed as your truck uses reverse switching. Always has power and switches the negatives

Thanks, Jerre. That will be a job, I had to remove the drivers side battery and tray to get to the left HL plugs. :(

One other thing, this might be related to the headlight prob.
The Dodge light harness has 4 plugs for the headlights, the Blizzard adaptors have the 4 plugs to the lights, but only 2 (one for each side) .. so 2 of the Dodge plugs aren't hooked to anything. When I first hooked it up, the lights didn't work at all, so I switched the Dodge leads abd it worked, but look dimmer....actually, the inner lights are ok, the two outers are really dim...on low beam, then on high beam, they all 4 are dim.

Did he send you the 62050 adapters....They have 4 plugs on each side. One for each light and one for each plug you removed from the light. This would be the solution to your problem of dim lights.

Jere,
Thanks a bunch. I really appreciate you taking tim eout of your busy schedule to help.
As you can tell, I don't give up easy, LOL.
I think I found the problem.
I reversed the adaptor pig tails to the headlights. One of the pig tails only has two wires..this one goes to the inner lights which stay off until high beam.
Its still daylight now, so I'll have to check after dark to make sure.

Also the instructions are wrong. The dodge has two fact. harness plugs on each side..one black and one blue. The instructions say to hook black to black on their adaptors...but none of the lights work like this. The fact. blue pig tail has to go to the Blizzard adaptors black socket, and the black Dodge pigtail end hangs loose unhooked.

I'll know in a couple of hours if I'm right. ;)

Everyting you take out of the dodge lights should plug into the blizzard harness. Three wire socket to the thre wire plug from the truck. Make sure the green and yellow wires on the blizzard plugs match the high/low wires on your truck and make sure both sides of the truck have the same wiring pattern on the plug ( dodge loves to wire both sides differently )
