I don't know if dockboy will be mad, but over at TDS he has posted a pic and said his hand can fit inside the hole in his block.. :headwall :headwall :headwall . He says more info once he tears her down, and be ready for even better times, new pistons and a turbo maybe???? I dunno what he is goin to do but everyone try to talk him into a real freakin turbo.. you should see the smoke that thing makes. :shades pimp

No, I'm not mad Ian;)

I'm just trying to push the limits!

I'll be putting a relatively stock short block in it for winter and plowing and build a heavier bottom end over the winter from what more I learn when I tear this one down;)

Here is a pic of the hole:eek:

Oh man Greg:( .Im so sorry,I dont think anyone here knows how much sweat, blood and money you put into that truck.I have a idea, since we both love getting the most out of our engines.Do you know what happened yet,or why? I do know nitrous dont help things.I know your truck is incredible, but in looking reliable all out performance ,I think it is time for a Cummins 12v swap. If there's anything i can do to help let me know.I hope you get it running in time for the snow:eek: .

Greg, I am sorry to hear about your motor. :( Thats an ugly picture for sure. I bet you will make the best out of this situation though, and make it faster and/or stronger. :) I just hope its ready in time for the first snowstorm. Good luck pal! Mike :)

Thanks Guy's!!

You got to pay to play!!(and learn!!)

John,

I know a 12v would be easy, but I enjoy the challenge!!;)

What I'm probably going to do is keep my work truck in the 450 hp range and then build a PSD race truck with a monster motor!!:D That way I can play and work on some big PSD power without putting myself out of commission:headwall ;) :grinz

By the way, here are 2 of the passes I made at the track the night before it went Kaboom:eek:

12.94 @ 106.75 (http://home.comcast.net/~gdapron/1294_0001.wmv)

12.86 @ 105.43 (http://home.comcast.net/~gdapron/12.86pass.wmv)

Gregg,450hp is no fun after driving i with 500-600:burnout . Also remember me asking you why the rpm limit was so low?You should have run her to 4200 from day one:D

Time for a Cummins conversion

Greg has already said many many times that he doesn't want to take the "easy" way out. He is leading the way for us PS guys and before you know it his truck will be up there with some big cummings. Good work Greg, I'm glad you put so much time and money into that truck. Everyone is learning from you.

Greg,
Were those 2 passes at Cecil COUNTY Dragway? If so I wish you would of let me known you were going I only live 15 mins. from there.

Hey,
If your not ready for the first storm let me know I will try to help you out. I have met a few guys from Elkton area I am going to use as subs they might be able to help you out too. I guess you still have my number.

If Greg is paving the way, I just hope he is sponsored,I know what it costs to do what hes doing, and it aint cheap.A cummins isnt the "easy" way out to me. Its the most economical, and its a better, stronger engine, one that parts are much cheaper for,and plentiful.whats wrong with that? Also if you have ever seen Gregs truck it is amazing how good his work is,he is very neat, and his truck is not easy to work on, at all.An inline 6 would solve that easily. He could easily assemble a 12V with a streetabke pump and street twins like mine that would put down 700RWHP on diesel, and well over 800 if he tickled it with A LITTLE nitrous. A bone stock engine would hold up easliy, the only mod needed would be to fire ring the engine and aset of good studds.I just know he needs a reliable plow/work truck, and this is the best way to get it at this time.I too commend Greg for what hes doing with the PSD,its amazing how far he's taken it.

Thanks Ian;)

Ray,

Yes it was at Cecil;) I usually go up there about every 2 weeks. That is when the truck is running!!!! :D :headwall

Thanks for the offer on helping, but hopefully I'll have her back together before the snow flies;)

Johnny,

When I said "easy", I just meant that it has been done before;) I want to see where we can take it with a PSD. It will be alot easier if I build a race/hp truck so I don't have to work on my daily ride. My truck will live forever at 450 hp right now and I won't have to spend much money to have it that way(just a short block). And because of some of the things I have accomplished so far, there are some vendors willing to help me out now!! :D

Jay,

It was a Hurst Olds. He did a 13.1:D

Still it would be fun to see their faces. :burnout

I rode with Greg once....... I doubt the cops could catch him:D .In order to catch him they gotta be able to do 2 things 0-100 in like 12 seconds, and more importantly they need those night goggles and a respirator, the smoke is thick and black, and it never quite cleans up either:burnout .You cant catch what you cant see.

Greg, have you seen some of the awesome Fords on this site.Everyone of them has the extra heavy duty diesel engine. You should look into this heavier duty engine:D :D J/K http://fordcummins.com/ This might be something to think about when you want to have the best under that shiney hood:burnout

I hope you get it running soon, the snow is starting up here,an inch yesterday.

John:D

The pump will never not be on a 7.3 I own:eek: :D You know that torque you felt while in my truck? Well that was the pump and it has the same effect on any injectors that are in it, especially running "Hot" programming!:grinz

Besides, you never know when I might have/need to throw the 530's back in!!  :D :burnout

Ray,

I can snap some of the finished product but that's it. I was rushing to get it in and didn't get any pics while going in:(

If you go HERE (http://www.northtexaspowerstrokes.com/users/dockboy/) and look at the pics titled rebuild, you can see the process to that point;)

Greg, just busting on you! i knew you couldnt resist! I know that torque i felt, that is the only PSD ive ridden in that felt like a Cummins pulling. I seen the pump on the new engine ,and was laughing to myself thinking this is the 3rd engine that pumps been on ,its spit rods out of both other blocks,in a few months time, and you put it on this one anyway:D .:burnout . Priceless!:D
