Especially when their wet, why couldn't it have waited a couple more hours before it started raining?

Now its gonna be a bear Thursday to get them all up.

I want SNOW !:D

I agree 100% with ya. I am pretty pissed off with those pesky weather we have been getting. Rain, wind storm, rain, wind storm, rain, etc.... I had four wind storms so far this fall. One account that I have leaves job for, all the leaves are COMPLETELY GONE. It is no where to be found. My potential $$ just flew away! :( Also I am tired of pesky little rain that is just enough to stop the leaves cleanup effort. I started cleaning up the leaves this morning then shortly before noon, it began to rain lightly so I kept working on, cleaning up the leaves with my lawn tractor with shredder/cart system. About an hour later things are getting messy and the system are clogging up, so I had enough of it and call it for a day. It was also sleeting too at that time, very little accumulation in some spots.

Forecast for tomorrow are saying mostly cloudy but temp. in mid 50s, so it should give me a chance to work more on leaves. But the catch is another 2 wind storms are expected for this Thursday and Friday! On Saturday I will be out of town all day so I won't be able to work on leaves. Well I could do more on Sunday and Monday, but that is when county dump are closed, so I have no where to dump the leaves until Tuesday. Why do things seem to always have to happen at worst time????

You know what really sucks about leaves, is when a neighbor rakes or blows them into a huge pile and then doesn't pick them up for whatever reasons, only to have the wind redeliver the majority of that pile to my yard. S.O.B! I had to get out the tractor and used the belly mower in reverse to mulch the daylights out of it all into a pile of shredded leaves. Then a snowshovel to scoop it up into bags. That guy is gonna find a mysteriously accumulated pile of snow at the end of his driveway!

If I had to bag all the leaves in my yard, I would use half a forest alone in paperbags.

Can't use plastic bags, city won't pickem up.

Too Far to drage them all out to the street ( 300 foot driveway, no street frontage, other houses)

So I call a friend with a vacuum truck and lo and behold the piles disappear.

I just have TOOOOOOOOOOOOO Damn many leaves:D

I have a bunch of properties still to do a fall (leaf) clean up on , hopefully before it snows...Or of course if it snows then its done in the spring....

It sucks when there wet, and/or frozen together.

I used to hate raking . then I bought a Cyclone rake for my tractor . it does a really good job picking up leaves ,needles twigs pinecones . For the corners and hard to get areas I have the hose with wand . Then use a third hose to suck them out of the container over a hill out of sight. No I am not a dealer LOL

leaves were going great till the other day......our big 65 hp municipal sucker that the boss had the motor rebuilt on blew a piston. we spent a lot of time priming, painting and putting her back together and now we are stuck using our 16hp giant vac, and the rest we are using bobcats and our loader to put in the dump trucks. hopefully we'll have it back this week sometime, cause production is lacking now:rolleyes: two big days of wind coming up too....... oh well, still beats last year. leaf season was non existent.

Amen, pro property, if I could control the weather It would snow every other day from Thanksgiving to Easter, only after Rush hour, after all the commercials close and on week ends so the parking lots would be empty.

And it wouldn't snow on holidays !

Think how quick and efficient we could be then.

They aren't soooo bad. You see I hired Mother Nature to maintain the leaves since our lawn service is done for the year.

We are having MASSIVE winds here and my lawn is pretty free of leaves right now. The wind has been SO bad that it opened my mailbox door and I am missing three Vehicle Registration cards that were in there. Couldn't make it to the post office due to
Carpet Installers; which they never showed up. :mad
Kicking myself in the rear for putting them in there.

*Looking for my Ruby slippers as we speak.....

I hope the wind blows the leaves off the properties I still have to do cleanups on, and of course I will still bill them....

Maybe these 40 - 50 mph winds will take the last leaves on my trees off so that I can do my final cleanup once and for all.

Have done my yard 3 times so far:headwall

I have seen 4 companys out trying to do leaves so far and we are supposed to get wind gusts over 58 mph today :rolleyes:So far its been in the 25 mph range.I would rather skip a day of leaves and get the job done when i know it will come out nice.

Ok, today I helped my son-in law do his leaves, clean the gutters and do (hopefully) the last cut . It took better part of the day.

I still have my yard to finish, but at least he came over, went up on the roof and did my gutters for me. One less thing to do now!

( he's good for something... j/k, he's a plumber, thats a good trade to have as a son in law.)

Hopefully, I should finish the leaves by wednesday if it doesn't rain between now and then.

Then I can play on the truck:D

I had the same problem , bought a 13hp billygoat loader this year and made sides on my 3/4 ton truck just to the top of the cab. took a load to the dump yesterday without packing it down(room for more) the weight was a wopping 1780Lbs I new it was heavy but didn't realize it was that heavy . they say 11/1 ratio but i would guess at least 7 truck loads to 1 of my truck loads before. it works great and saves alot of time. craig
