It won't hurt it at all.It may make it a little more difficult to hook up,but it still should go on and off ok.

On a BOSS straight blade, if it's angled to the right will make more room to hookup it up. All SmartHitch power controls on the left side ;) Of course BOSS plows are the fastest & easiest plows to hookup-mount ;) anyway

Sorry to disappoint you ;) but yes a have hooked up a couple of Ultramount

Boss SmartHitch2 system is still faster & easier :argue IMHO :D

With my BOSS on dollies I can have it mounted & in the truck driving away in under 20 seconds & not have to play with pins or chains. Just plug in 2 plugs & flip a switch, it mounts it self.

Just a question have you ever tried a Boss SmartHitch2 system?
In 30 years of plowing I've used or worked on most plow systems :shades

I will be VERY MUCH looking forward to the ease of the new BOSS's hookup.

With the RTII if you were 1/4" to high or low it let you know!

20 seconds vs. sometimes 20 minutes! :burnout

OhioSnow did you say dollys ? Ultramount doesnt need no stinkin dollys. Drive in she guides herself :D , no dollys required for that critical lineup required on the Boss ;) And last time I checked no pins or chains on my ultra either, now my old unimount. Coughing, get the jack out.

Todd :p

Todd :p Actually theres no dollys required for hooking up to my boss plow and the RTIII with the smarthitch doesnt have a hard lineup either. about 20seconds max for hookup.

now my old unimount. Coughing, get the jack out. and a small sledge and a couple of guys to help. :D :D western makes a good plow but when my unimount went on, it stayed on until the spring.

enjoy the boss plow, I hear they're a slick hitch for on and off.

This is Westerns instructions on Ultra mount:

"After driving into the receiver brackets simply grab the shoe handle & pull it up-the spring loaded shoe will pop up. Now pull the lock pin (in red) & rotate the handle up. Repeat on the other side. Plug in the two electrical connections & that's it. "

Like I stated:

The dollies are that I can pull in anywhere in the shop & roll it to the truck plus I can move it out of the way with a push ;) but not needed to still hook-up very fast , it's just a convenience to me.

As for the chains you don't have to hook & unhook any more on a Ultra but go over a bump in the road & a BOSS doesn't bang up & down like the Western does.:p

On a Ultra I should have said handles not pins but you still have to pull 2-handles & jump to the othe side & repeat (4 handles) plus 2 electrical plugs ;)

You must still be thinking of the old BOSS II hook-ups as the Boss SmartHitch2 system is 2 plugs & flip a electrical switch It doesn't get any easier :D

And 1 last thing driving into the receiver brackets is simple but so is driving into parking blocks or curbs with the Westerns low hanging brackets on a Chevy or GMC truck :D I have a buddy that has 4-Ultras on Chevys & 1-GMC & his drivers & him have each smashed their low hanging receivers
 And yes you can take them off but then you have to put them back on to hookup.
