Hello,

Just picked up a 1979 Chevy K5 Blazer, 305 V8. It has an older Western plow package. The plow has only one control lever, it is a push/pull rod which goes through the fire wall. The plow raises and lowers just fine, however, I would like to add power angles. I will need to buy the rams, thats easy, but where can I purchase a hydraulic control block for the power angle rams. This plow package is a belt drive pump mounted to the engine crank via pulley and belt. I am sure there is enough power in the pump to operate the angles, just unsure which way to turn for a hydraulic control block. Any insight and information would be appreciated. Either reply to board or email me... LaGattaDJ@aol.com BTW screaming deal, 300 bucks for the truck and plow!!

Thanks,

Dave

The controll valve you'll need is pushing $400 new, thats more than your selling the truck for!How much are you looking to spend?Once you find rams, hoses, cables valve,etc.etc.,you'll find your droping a few bucks into this.

Thanks for the response, I am not selling the truck, I purchased it for 300 bucks. I figured it would be expensive to take care of, since I am only going to use it to plow my own driveway, I guess I will be satisfied with no angle function.

You will also need a differt control box for both cables, besides the parts lited above. The box alone is about $150.00, plus the angle cylinders are about $75.00 apiece. You'll have close to $1000.00into this when all is said and done if you buy new components and counting you time.

I know this is an old thread but I`ll post what i did wil my old western manual angle , I found another plow that the blade was done and the a frame was toasted but I robbed the meyers e-47 pump, cylinders and controls off of it and set them up on my western blade.I bought the meyers for 200$ and it also included the truck harness which was in good shape . After I robbed what I wanted off it I sold the remaining parts in the classifieds for $200 .Worked for me!!..Good luck..
