When the blade is all the way down, there are still several inches of the cylinder piston showing. Did the dealer install the chains too loose from the lifting arm to the blade?

How much slack should be in the chains?

Thats about right, you need the extra slack to alow the blade to follow changes in terrain, especially driveway approaches.

Crash is right,there should be slack.

I usually run with 2-3 inches of piston exposed with the plow n the ground.I have a few places with some steep dropoffs,so i need to plow to be able to drop and stay on the ground.
