First off, no I don't plan on doing it.
Just venting, some guy on a Jeep forum I belong to is telling people that a Wrangler will handle a 7.5 plow fine because it's built "on a truck frame". Of course I set the record straight but I'm sure he'll argue.

I ran a 7.5 western on a jeep wrangler for 2 years and the jeep did just fine. I agree it was to big but the set up was a good price.

I've seen quite a few of them to,and they seem to do OK with the 7.5 on the front. They do use a full frame, just not quite as strong as a full size truck.

Western makes a 7.2 LSX plow that is recommended for Wranglers.................
So it is not too far out of line...

I realize it will work, but he made it sound like you can throw any 7.5 on without making any modifications and you would be fine.
Jay, I did mention the LSX would be a better choice since it weighs quite a bit less.

It will handle a 7.5 plow, but it has a weight lifting limit thus the light weight plows available for it.
The front axel capacity is very light.

I don't know what 7'6" would be really good for a wrangler. Sure i agree with the people above, it can be done and people have done it with no problems. Even the LD Fisher 7'6" runs around 510 LBS which is OK, but you should try to stay in the 400 LB range on a wrangler, and even then you will need to make modifications to the front end. I will be the first to tell you people think my 750 LB plow is way to heavy for my F-150 ext cab, but its never been a problem.

I really do not see it being a problem. It would make a nice plow for driveways. Lots of overhang to swing in close to stuff.

This whole plow set up is about 425
I added a removable leaf to the front for plowing

My SnoWay with down pressure works great on my YJ. No suspension modifications needed. Very, very expensive in Canada though.

I wanted a Snoway but I already had the Western 6'6" SUV plow
