View Full Version : How does the 810 attach
I just bought an 810, yet to be installed, I was wondering how hard the lights are to take on & off. I just was curious. Also how easy is it to hook up to plow, and any tips to make it easier. As in level ground etc. Which fluid to run in the pump and should I cahange it after first use? Any info would be appreciated, Kyle.

The lights come on and off easily,by pulling two small pins, and lift them off.The only problem with this setup is vibration, theft, and grounding. If it was mine,I would bolt them on tight for them winter.
The plow goes on and off quite easily.Drive in,hit the switch to pull the plow in and insert two pins.
Even though it's not totally neccesary,I would change the fluid after the first fews uses, just to get any little pieces of debris out.Blizzard has their own fluid too.
While your servicing it,I would go over all the bolts to make sure they are good and snug.
You may also want to consider bracing the side plates before installing,as it will prevent them from twisting.

Wasn't sure exactly what you were looking for, and I don't have a blizzard, but I do remember seeing this

Might help....I am sure there will be plenty of posts on the tips for installing, but it seems like its pretty easy to me!
Good luck!

The lightbar is totally simple to install/take off as wyldman stated above..................And yes you may want to rig some sort of setup up in order to cut down on the vibrations from it...
As far as the plow goes.............hitching it is a snap. pull in/plug in the electric.... switch your cab controls to outside power....... get out flick the pump mounted power switch into the raise position..........watch arm engage throw in two pins get in the cab switch the power back to cab controls and your ready to plow..............
My best advice for mounting is that when you take the plow after each storm take it off in the straight position not the angled positon!!! makes for an easier time in hitching.....
As far as Fluid goes use the Blizzard Brand fluid. Thats what we have run in our 2 blades with 0 problems!!!
GOOD LUCK
Jay
Hey guys thanks for the info, and if anyone else has more to say please do.
Chris, I haven't even seen it yet so what sideplates are you talking about and how should I brace them, angle iron, plate steel, something like that?
It will be installed on Monday the 8th :burnout

The side plates are what attaches to either side of the pushbeam.Add a v-shaped brace to each side, with some flat stock.
Here is a pic. It's hard to see all of it,but it will give you a good idea of where to do it.It prevents it from buckling sideways on a good impact.

Forgot the pic.
Bringing this back up Wyldman gave good insight on this subject...and good info for new Blizzard owners. Kyle.
