Gordyo does any of this equipment have any particular markings on it? Names or numbers? When you say north shore do you mean Revere to Salisbury or more inland? I read the wants ads almost every week and if I see that combo I'll give you a shout. Was the entire truck stolen or just the parts? Some people are just :evil

JD,

I don't know too many details other than it was brand new stuff, never seen snow should only be Diamond and Meyer on it no company names, there was no truck just the equipment. I would say Boston to Southern New Hampshire would be were it might be seen, but who knows.

It's going to be real tough, as you said, its brand NEW. If it were used, scratch, dent, visible marking, etc would give it away. But new......Its anyone's guess.

Did they alert all local plow shops? This way if they're brought in, and THEY didn't sell it, they could start asking more questions....

Good Luck!

I once looked at a tandem dump truck, 10 years old, that only had 86,000 miles on it. It had been parked in a barn for 5 years while it cooled off. It had been recovered and the dealer had bought it from the insurance company. A customer of mine lost a New Holland skid loader and when it was recovered three years later it only had 100 hours more on the clock (but they were obviously *hard* hours), than the day it disappeared. It was never proven that the farmer who had it was the theif--he claimed to have bought it from someone who represented it as their own.

My point is this--if you've not paid for the equipment in the first place there's not a real strong incentive to get it to pay for itself. Whoever stole that plow and spreader might not try to unload them until next year, or later. *Any* time you're offered a deal that's too good to be true, be suspicious.

BTW, if they catch *you* in possesion of the stuff, even if you bought it, that's called "recieving stolen property", and at the very least it'll be returned to the rightful owner and you'll lose your investment...

But metal is too sturdy -- they should use the little red plastic shovels kids use on the beach!
I suppose we are keeping this thread near the top.... ;)

I like the metal garden shovel idea. With bare hands. Any yellow snow gets eaten!

Was it someone you knew, or out of the blue thief?

Gordyo, anymore news?? Its been a while since you posted. I am also interested in where they found the plow and who had it? I wonder how someone steals a 9' plow and sander? Those are not things you can just pick up and walk away with so easily. Nowadays though, anything is possible I guess. Hopefully when you reply, you will have more good news. Mike :)

Sorry Guys, but I can't get into any specifics right now, I hope you understand as this is still pending with local Law Enforcement. the V-Box as far as I know has still not been recovered.

In the future if anything you own gets stolen.Visit dealers of the product in person and leave a picture of what you lost. With your phone numbers and a reward.make your reward what its worth to have it back.

the benifit of visiting in person it that is shows your a regular working stiff and you want it back.

you might think a theif will not go to a dealer, belive me most of them are not too smart .I had an atv stolen and they went to the dealer who sold it to me to purchase new rear tires and a new ignition switch. The dealer was nice enought to tell the guys to bring it in an he would install a new ignition switch in it because of a call back.We waited with the dedective for them to show up to drop off the atv and dont you know they had came in with a stolen trailer and 2 other stolen atv's.The detective was smart enough to start talking to the guys before he locked them up and had them bragging what atv belonged to with guy and they all said they owned the trailer together. They all got charged with stolen property.
Remember folks steeling equiptment may be doing it for a fix they are not that bright

Correction on sander He thinks the guy just got it real cheap and did not want him to know how much he paid so he could sell him one .

For those in the K.C. Missouri and Kansas area I saw on the news the other day, a large chop shop and auto theft ring that was just finally busted and among the things recovered were RVs, Boats, Cars, Trucks, a Hinker snowplow and v box salter, and a Boss v plow. Just shows it may hit closer to home than we think sometimes.

kinda of a little payback
