Well, we did get snow today... or we are getting snow. So far we got about 5" and it's still coming down. We got done with our run to open things up, and gladly, nothing went wrong. It took us a while, but we are getting it together. I told my brother last night, that last night was like Christmas Eve- We would wake up in the morning, see what "Santa" brought us, and then go play with our new toys:D Anyway, here is a pic of the Ram in our first lot.

Chevy Guy- You can come up and relieve me-we just went to open them up, and shovel small paths in the sidewalks, so we figured we wouldn't need the snowblower-BIG MISTAKE:rolleyes: We got to the residentials, and the sidewalks were all drivted to about 2-2.5 ft:( And guess who got to shovel:scramble Me:nodd Needless to say, I'm a little tired, but I'll gladly go clean up after the storm:D :D

Well Matt, it looks like you are getting a perfect opportunity to test out the new truck and new Blizzard plow. You do realize that we expect a full report of how they both performed as soon as you get to make up that lost sleep... :cash

The bank will be glad to see you, bringing all that cash in!

Well, here is the results of the last storm. The trucks and plows held up fine on Sun. and last night. We got out this morning, and at about 5AM, the 80 Chevy blows a brake line. Ok, we still have the Dodge w/Blizzard. At about 7:30, My brother says, " Does the plow seem to be moving slower"? Sure enough, there is a long blue trail of hydro oil:rolleyes: We get back to the shop (I've got to go to school anyway), and it turns out the angle fitting for the wing is leaking from inside the fitting itself. So, my dad and bro refill it with fluid, and leave the wing in. I got back from hockey after school and they tell me somebody hit my truck. I thought he was joking, but he showed me her name and insurance info. I went out to look at my truck, and sure enough, there is a 1.5-2" wide scrape the length of the bumper(nice shiny, chrome, 2" drop syle). It isn't nice and shiny anymore:headwall All they are doing is snickering about how my truck that I am paying for, that my Dad is using to make 100+ per hour with, got hit:evil Needless to say, I am really pi##ed right now. It isn't worth the deductible, so I just have to live with it:fuming Oh well, next time I drive his truck, I won't be so careful:evil :D On a semi-positive note, the van that hit it has no bumper, fender, or working door, and I have a bumper that is ben in a little, and scratched up.

Those MVP angle cyl are not cheap. I blew one years ago about 200.00 for an new one.
If your truck was hit by someone else shouldnt they have to pay for the bumper.

Well, at least nobody got hurt in the accident, and hopefully the dealer will help you out with your leaking fitting- it is a new plow correct?

Don't worry- better days are ahead of you! and at least you get to rub it in to us other guys and gals who are still waiting for snow!!!!

Crime dog if you got hit why wouldnt the other persons ins. cover your damage ?

EZSnow
11-24-2003, 07:29 PM
turns out it wasn't the angle cylinder itself... either the packing or the fitting. I just talked to the plow owner... not really that mechanical.

funny story follows: he (plow owner mentioned above, contractor I work(ed) for) just bought his dad's 97 250 with a diamond. It wouldn't angle- just up and down. I tugged on the left hose and it popped out. I pushed it against the pump to bleed the pressure off the check ball, (got squirted in the eye) cleaned up the release fitting, and stuck 'er in, and we're on the road!!!

WHAT HAPPENED TO LOGIC?!?!

if they hit your truck then their insurance should pay the bill to do the repairs to your truck...

CNY Joe
11-25-2003, 05:45 AM
I agree the lady's insurance should pay/ At the very least I would get 3 estimate and let the lady know what they were and let her decide if she wants to pay for it or go thru her insurance.JMO

I am going to see if I can get her to pay for it. The thing that sucks is that my brother didn't have the beacon going on top of the truck:rolleyes: How do you guys think that would affect it? My dad says that in MN, it is very hard to get full compensation without getting out your checkbook:rolleyes: But, as you guys said, at least we got snow:D

I had a minor accident while plowing a driveway..I was at the end of the driveway without my strobe on(it was about 3 am and there was very little traffic) a truck coming down the road freaked out thinking i was backing into the road.He swerved and side swiped a pole.Eventhough he was speeding i got part of the blame because i was plowing without my light on.In your case it sounds like she was totally at fault i dont think the light should make much of a difference.

What ??? The strobe wasnt on. Sure it was, must have jarred loose from the lighter recpticle when you got hit ;) Hey she hit you right ? If you hit her and her hazzards were not on would you pay to fix her car, I know I would. Is negligence acceptable these days, because um??? ya because you um. She hit you, right??? Nuff said

a lot of people dont seem to use plowlights i noticed. as long as their is a warning light i guess it fine not to use them Meyer what does this have to do with anything and what does not having plow lights have to do with running warning lights :beatsme ???? Just wondering. Any way getting back on topic...nice trucks and I don't know about in minnesota but in Jersey you have a speacial permit to run beacons check your laws to make sure you don't becasue if you dont have one and you need one your automatically at fault I've heard. Just something to look into.

OR they like how it looks for the picture and have the in-cab "plow lights / truck lights" switch turned to the "truck lights" position... here we go again.

Next time somebody asks... you can tell them that.

That Ram holds the Blizzard really well, there is no sag in the front at all. Are you running Timbrens?

Not sure if he's running Timbrens, but he did upgrade the springs to the biggest available.

You guys are right on the money. I've got the 47/48 combo and no timbrens. The more I have them, the more I like them:D When you raise the plow, it hardly drops 3/4 of an inch, and that's a 1000 lb. plow:D It corners real nice, too-not as much body roll out of the front.
